Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Don't get me wrong, I have no issues with Orfeboys latest orders. If you can follow them you should.

I can't - for in-game and real-world issues (as mentioned above)

Please remember, that, unlike the feds we are not an army, we are a coalition. Each faction fighting for Lugh have their own goals and agendas. Currently they align, they won't always.

I'm sure Orfeboy is happy for people to defend Lugh in whatever way they can. Following orders and being a coherent fighting group is the best way.

When you are leading a coalition you need to understand and respect the needs, requirements, religious beliefs etc. of the factions within your coalition. Failure to do so, and ordering them to do something they don't want to do means we may as well join the federation and all "be the same".

That is not what we want. That is not (I am sure) what Orfeboy wants. What we all want is victory. So, if you are able, do as Orfeboy requires. I also respectfully request that everyone respects those of us that cannot for whatever reason (in game or real world).

For Lugh! (as opposed to the lining of our pockets)

And most importantly: for the Children!

I can live with that.

How about we approach this from a new perspective...

We could load up our combat ships with gold, palladium or platinum, pull over those dastardly weapons traffickers, and offer to Abandon goods of greater net worth than their cargo.

They swap death-dealing weapons of evil for wholesome metals, and we destroy their ejected waste, which is nowt but a navigational hazard. ;)

Just for clarification, is it only PC traders we are talking about taking out or have NPC weapons traders been introduced? I.e. is the current order open-play-only?

I've traded, smuggled, destroyed countless fed ships and convoys and milked dry an entire herd of space cows so far for the CSG. A little rapid unplanned disassembly of uncooperative fed gun-runners might get me a slap on the wrist from the feds, but that's fine by me.

I like the "drop your cargo and we'll reimburse you five tons of palladium. If we see you in system again we'll blow you back into a sidewinder" approach.

Back on the topic of testing the background sim. We have now just finished the Operation Dullahan community event and the influence in the system is as follows:

Lugh for Equality 0% down trending, civil war, federation
Silver Natural LTD 88% up trending, boom, federation
Dominion of Lugh 0% down trending, independent
Crimson State Group 0% down trending, civil war, independent
Lugh Defense Force 8% down trending, independent

Um, what? Surely it's a knife-edge with the L4E and Crimsons teetering at 49/51% back and forth at this point.

Did I misunderstand what Influence means?

Does the fact that basically nobody's been doing missions for Crimson and L4E and the fact that both have been dying by the millions means that the Silvers will overtake the system when the war is completed, just by being the default faction-who-gains-from-fed-turnins-but-doesn't-take-combat-losses?

Background sim, go home you're drunk!

I think the devs said there was a bug with the warring factions losing so much influence so quickly in a war and it'll be fixed later. I'm working under the assumption that these figures have no bearing until the war ends and we see what happens.

Sorry, boys. I don't mind legit military targets where I collect combat bonds on a merc contract, a little clandestine supply or a touch of smuggling - those are just ordinary business, after all. But if you're asking me to hoist he jolly roger in full view of fed cops? That's bad for business. Wouldn't take a contract to do it to you, won't take a contract to do it to them. Doesn't matter how much I hate the feds or support your cause. I got limits and so does my crew. If I took that one even my crooked contacts inside the fed would be after my hide. I'm in no hurry to be as popular as a case of Herpes or worse, as popular as president Halsey. I'll run you some more intel while it lasts and shoot up any feds that object but you won't find me boiling traders in fed controlled space where their cops can see it. I got wider concerns than one system.

What he said. I'll take on Fed military ships in conflict zones but I'm not boiling up traders doing what they believe to be honest work. That's a step too far for this ship.

<Totally OC>

Isn't winning this going to be determined by who finishes their community events first? Not necessarily who "won them". So with Gifts and Dallahan over, doesn't Spear need to be finished before we blockade?

This is just my understanding from inference of posts and messages I've come across from FD. Maybe CSG leadership is party to more information.

That would be why. Thanks!

Once they made a conscious choice to start trading military equipment for the Feds war effort, paid for out of the Feds warchest (paid no doubt with profits from selling Lugh children into slavery), they stopped being traders and turned into military supply lines.

They are valid targets.

I could understand your point if they were running medical supplies, but let's face it: they are running weapons for the express purpose of crushing the innocent people of Lugh!

When I get out there tonight I don't intend on boiling anyone: if they drop the guns they can go on their way, hull intact.

For you, maybe. Not for me. I'll stick to the conflict zone.

I dont think NPC´s contribute in any way or form in these scenarios... Yet. It would be great if they did though (albeit possibly at a lower level of efficiency) so if all trading players retreat to SOLO at least the blockade could have some meaning as co operative PVE.

So, as it stands, the blockade in Khaka is eminently a PVP thing. We need to stop players delivering weapons in Khaka to slow down and hamper the Federal Community Goal there.

id love to help with this, is your in-game name the same as here?

Only Pilots who enjoy PvP or Pirates can/should engage traders in Khaka.

We do not force anyone to do this. The Convoy Beacon is still there to make quick and easy money and we also have to finish the Spear of Lugh.
I will continue to bring in Bonds for the Spear of Lugh. I can not bring myself to kill traders... even if they work for the feds... but that is just how i roll.
