Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

I don't think there's any need to worry about the other stations. The goal was independence, not to annihiliate all federation supporters (right?)

As long as there are Federal factions in control of some stations, the background simulation will slowly raise their influence in the system when there are no more players actively working to keep CSG's influence near 100%. I don't know for you, but I don't feel like babysitting the system my whole life.

An other reason to do so is that a group of players aiming to put LFE back in control of the system will have a much harder time triggering a new war with no fed-owned stations in the system (they will get much less missions for LFE from the bulletin boards). Stopping now would be like dropping your medicine into the trash bin as soon as you start to feel a bit less sick.

Finally we just cannot let some of our brothers and sisters still live under the boot of the Federation while we selfishly enjoy the sweet taste of freedom a few Ls away from them

Damn! CSG asked me for booze - I landed the weekend and civil unrest went up...

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHH

IT'S A MINEFIELD!

OK bounty hunting it is from here on in- the party is over (Though what to do with the spare 186tons of beer that I left in my hold before I logged off!?)

dump em for party like the other day?^^

You can drive down Civil Unrest and Lock Down by increasing security. That means bounty hunting.

Yes, this. Furthermore we figured that exploring is currently the other fotm influence generator, with 1 million about 1%. Apparently with diminishing returns thr higher the influence gets.

But to get the Federal stations? Wont happen unless you push LFE. And when they get civil war on CSG, coming from below.... It will be about Heartsfield and the system.

You could always be a bit creative. :)

Get through all the negative states that were pending earlier, build CSG influence back over 70 and then take the remaining stations one by one though civil wars, I would say.

You cannot capture other stations. Wars are fought over one station always, 'the most important one' of the two factions at war. As CSG controls already the most important station (the one which is key to controlling the system) every any other war fough would be over that station (with no stations changing hands if CSG wins the war).
That's how systems are captured throught the when FD doesn't use CG.

Additionally, once your influence is over 70% AND controls the system wars cannot be started at all anyway, so forget about that. The only thing that happens when you are above 70% is that you get expansion state and your faction starts spreading to neighbour systems.

Then the is still clearly subpar IMHO. It seems a bit weird that the controlling faction of a system is also the only one that has no means to start civil wars and further secure its dominance over the system...

Thanks to the CSG war pention, ts I've got a shiney new Space Cow that needs to be broken in.

I've got 500 cargo racks that need filling, what trade with the CSG will help incease stabilty and influance?

So civil war is over?

Anyone wishing to help consolidate the position of CSg watch here for instructions. We will need to play the faction game and win some civil wars. The problem with this is that we need to bump faction %'s with other factions holding stations. We have 2 or 3 ways to accomplish this, and we need to figure out which way is best. So trade away to Hartsfield! It is now home.

Maybe they need to add a Popular Support bar. Influence is a measure of general power, Support is % of local populace that actively supports the faction. You could have a popular uprising then.

That would also allow very powerful faction, that have no popular support – that’d be common in dictatorships etc.

Yes trading with CSG stations will push the influence.

Don't worry I've got just the place in mind :D

Thanks for trying to inspire ShodowWolf but all I can think about is that poor reindeer!
Mind you if that's what happens when drunks get together I can see why giving it our guys causes lockdown and unrest :p

On the subject of civil wars - is there anyway of ousting the fed factions via civil war with a third party - one that doesn't involve CSG.

In other words could we start something between LDF and LfE (for example) to replace the feds with a different independant faction whilst leaving hartsfield unmolested so to speak?

I like the idea.
