Alpha Testers - How many of you will be uploading footage?

With all the players who will participate in the alpha, there will undoubtedly numerous videos and images. But I very much hope that the players of alpha, also give their reviews, opinions, sensations of the game here in posts on the forums. Perhaps there should be a specialized forum for alpha ?

It's confirmed that there will be special forum for testing which will be used for communication between testers and FD. Don't know if it will be read only for rest of us, would be nice, but no big deal if it won't.

p.s. I am in second beta myself ;)

Yes it would be nice if it was read-only, as DDF. We would have a lot to read and take pleasure

this is exactly why I hope the tread remains on the backers forum for now.
there are several Alpha players preparing streams.
I'm one of them.
most of us have already working streams.
but we all need fine tuning.
I'm using grid2 as a testing ground.
because it uses a lot of resources.
I haven't tried voice over jet .

have a look at the first test.

you'll need to make a account.
but its free as long you can handle the few commercials.

It would be nice to list all the flows, into the forums on a dedicated thread

I'll give it a go. I'm just having a play around with OVERWOLF. I'm not in love with the controls but that might be because I have a Spanish language keyboard.

I will post to Youtube (Bingobrewster) and put links on FB, Google+. Tweeter and the forums.

Wouldnt the biggest kicker be if theres a NDA or not? I dont think i've done a restricted alpha that didnt have some kind of NDA, to prevent anything really screwed up and easily fixable from ruining the games image.

Just saying, because the Elder Scrolls Online beta leak footage really messed up my opinion of it, then I was officially invited to the open beta, and pretty much ate everything I had said about it up to that point. Fantastic game. I'd say its more like GuildWars 3 than an TES game, but doesnt mean its bad.

If I hadnt tried the beta, I probably never would have continued on to bother with the official game when it releases, and thousands others (including most every one i know) never will because of that. I personally dont want something similar to happen here with ED, it doesnt seem to be as... Robust... as a game with millions of fans already who'd play regardless. We just have a mere 30,000 here, and so a lot of what comes out in this alpha and beta phases, and what people outside our circle here see, will heavily influence the games future.

Good point, but NDA won't fix it. In these days what's leaked leaked. You can't call information about alpha back, it will go and live on independent life, does FD spent time to request take down or not.

So why not do other way to avoid bad impressions - don't release unfinished alpha. Because alpha doesn't mean exactly buggy code, but part of the game - which can be also polished and good looking for what it is, especially for sandbox game. There's reason why FD developers descended in their lair for month long crunch. They want to have that first impression to be good. They have set their bar for quality. They know there's lot of nay sayers out there who want to pick up on footage not looking so good. It's a reason why we still don't know concrete date for alpha start ;)

And fact that footage what we saw in Dev Diary #8 is from month and a half ago also gives me hope that will be pleasantly surprised about overall quality of first alpha code. It will crash, it won't run (as alphas sometimes does), but when it will run it will look good.

you can expect a certain censorship from me.
I will delete any scene that doest ad up to the reputation.
also any footage wont be downloadable.
I hope my fellow up loaders also will upload with certain discretion.

I will be uploading as much alpha footage as I can, but as those above have said this is an opportunity to advertise ED and increase its media exposure in a positive way. I would never up load anything that would be detrimental to the project.

I don't think it quite 1,5 months ago, more like 3-4 weeks...the hint is between Mike Evans nose and mouth (2:28 mark in the video). ;)
