We aren't the Knights of Mikunn we are the Mercenaries of Mikunn. So in other words, we only answer to the Dukes when they pay us through the bulletin board. They host our home base... And always pay their debts for services rendered at the time promised.
It is hard to find people in the galaxy like this, so it is in our financial interest to see that they succeed and expand.... But otherwise we do not answer to them.
For example, you promised to compensate us for our work, the Dukes didn't send us here for an alliance. Speaking of which something was to be done by today, a very small payment compared to the services rendered. Yet I was informed today (the point the task should nearly be done) that you called the 5 guys I wanted for 5 days, back home. I'm not even sure they made it here.
As a result I had to cancel one of our special operations as well as an EIC one, which by the way, they aren't happy about. Now one of the background tests we wanted to perform won't be done. I'm not really upset about this, but some of my guys are =/. Ever been surrounded by unpaid mercenaries? I am, and let me tell you... Not a pretty sight.
Five guys for five days, in return for all my guys for one week and half of my guys for an additional week, and then a no show because you called people back? While I'm not angry, I can understand why my Mercs feel a little burned. Nothing's going to come of this, but I wouldn't recommend doing this a second time, because God, wouldn't it make an interesting Galnet story if the Empire on one side, the Feds on the other, and the Mercs in between formed an alliance to crush Lugh for failure to pay war debts?
So if you back out on us you might as well get our name right. Not paying us
and not calling us Mercs? It's like you are rubbing it in.
(Honestly I am amused by the situation, so I'm going to play it up a bit for some fun

; however, some of my guys are legitimately angry. The background sim fails them enough, player groups don't need to as well. And it's not like I gave you a difficult task. Time sensitive but very easy (I was being nice). At this point, everything is cancelled and we have changed what we are doing, otherwise I wouldn't have even mentioned those operations. Oh well. Next time.)
