Everyone that is BASICALLY happy with the game post here please

The fun with E:D actually scales with the use of more hardware, like Rift and HOTAS.
I recently just a few weeks ago decided to take a break from E:D. But I couldn't stop playing. And ironically just when I was about to take a break, it suddenly became a whole lot more fun! I just got my X-55 HOTAS and OMG the game is just incredible with a proper controller! Cruising around in an asteroid belt with the controllers are just pure joy!
Sometimes I just go to a icy ring system, drop out of supercruise, and just try to improve my piloting skills. I can even turn off Flight Assist and just float around, hearing nothing except the beautiful music.
Given a few more years with some DLC, E:D might be the game I've been longing for my entire life.
Thank you Frontier! Don't listen to the whiners and haters. Listen to the us, we who loves the game!

This is the game that:
Caused me to abandon all interest in that"other" space game that I had backed in kickstarter
Caused me to uninstall all other games on my PC
Motivated me to go buy a HOTAS
I even went out and bought components to build my own ed tracker

....so yes this game is the best I have ever played... Exactly what I have been waiting for since I was a child

My only complaint is that my wife thinks I have gone super nerd..lol

Also kudos to the team for creating a game that will run beautifully on my rig I built for skyrim many years back most modern games are hogs and I don't see the benefit usually, graphics marginally better but chop chop chop

^This

Except I didn't back another kickstarter. And I don't have a wife. :) Which means lots of time for Elite.

I'm desperately trying to resist buying an Oculus Rift currently. I bought the HOTAS, but haven't connected it yet as I feel I'll need to build the chair to go with it. Which of course will necessitate the OR - so hopefully I can delay that until the consumer version is released, then I'll just build a computer into the chair with HOTAS and OR, purely for E: D. :D

I'm very satisfied with Elite Dangerous, i did for a bit start to get a bit disgruntled with things i was noticing a lot in game, but once i left open, all those things were left behind.. and my game has been very enjoyable since. Best decision i ever made. I'm currently out in the black exploring, will be out there for some time, heading towards a black hole as my first major waypoint, i'm 200 Ly away from that right now, but flying the economy route so not planning to be there just yet.

I notice mining is getting some love (GREAT!!) I like that you will be able to get fuel to other players too.. nice.

I will play the game as i'm playing it now, and if open becomes a viable place for me to want to play again i will, but for now, I am satisfied with elite dangerous while playing in a private group.

It's awesome fun, and exactly what I'd hoped for when I was told about Elite being brought up-to-date (by a total frothing convert who could barely talk about anything else for several months, but he's happy and well adjusted which shows you can't have too much ED). Also for the first time in my life I was finally able to justify buying a decent HOTAS, but only after I'd utterly destroyed my original, er, CHEAPAS?

The planned improvements and expansions will continue to keep me glued to the game for the foreseable future.

Woo hoo!

Exactly to the letter this ^^

Over the moon with the game, you know the one next to Lave :D

We need a new term for the Wives/partners of the pilots >>>> Elite widows ? Lavian Widows ?

I am more than happy playing this game. I don't have much time to play videogames and ED is only game which I have played mainly this year, though I have been playing Angry Birds and little bit Chess also. ED has excellent graphics, sound and playability, it is everything you need for space game. I reached my goal which was collecting credits until I could buy Cobra, my next goal will be landing on Earth or landing to any planet, but that will take long time until there will be planet landing included. Meanwhile I am just flying and collecting credits, maybe doing some bounty hunting also.

The atmosphere and immersion is incredible.

Everything you do successfully is rewarding, and you have real losses that you have to protect. You can't just reload a checkpoint or start the mission again, even just successfully making it into another system without being interdicted and docking gives you a sense of achievement, knowing that things could go terribly wrong any point you're outside, and that you made the journey successfully.

The sound design is brilliant, hurtling through time and space, the explosive noise of exiting a hyperspace jump, the mechanical whirring of the hangar, and the humming of the engine all adds to the feel.

Playing with my sister in the room, she said it reminds her of those video motion simulators you can pay to ride in, and that it feels so real just looking at the screen!

For the most part. I'm looking forward to drones so I don't have to scoop all my ore myself, but I guess that's a fairly minor complaint.

It's a nice game. A lot of work and thought gone into it. More to come, too. Best 40 squids I spent in a long time. No subscription charges, nice. Worth ten times as much. I've spent much more money on one bad night out.

FD can have many lozenges of rep from me.

:)

Well I dip in and out of the game - taken me ages to get a viper but there is something compelling in travelling in all that space. Also just got a joystick and that adds even more playability. Overall as a casual player I am enjoying my group and solo sessions. It gives me that space to relax and enjoy without having to feel pressurised into fighting or competing. If I want excitement I go fast into the docking bay!!
