filter to show only scoopable stars
Sold back my FDL today. That fuel tank is just stupid. Even with scooping at each viable star, I found myself in constant fear of being stranded. A few bad jumps and I'd be left with a 4 million credit bill due to having to self destruct. Rant over.
FDl has pretty much the same manoeuvrability as the Python but it is a cheaper option when you kit it out for combat.
SquidofLove has done a great video comparing the FDL and the Python:

That huge hardpoint... must... resist!
It's a lot of work for very little gain with the cannons, fixed or gimballed. Haven't tried the PA in it yet, though.
Hm. I run a large cannon on my Dropship nowadays and I think it's baaad aaass. Provided the Dropship's fly-everywhere-but-where-pointed nature, the accuracy is not bad either, not bad at all. That's not to say I'm Milky Way's Red Baron. Which I'm not.

FYI, 1.3 will bring extra fuel tanks for internal compartments.![]()
You wouldn't go on a date in a pick up truck, have a race in a 1.1 diesel fiat 500 or go to the shops in a Formula 1 car.
Think what you are trying to do and buy a ship instead of buying a ship and then thinking what you want to do.
The problem with the FDL is moving around the galaxy.
Got a CG 140ly away? Well that's half an hour of your life you won't get by hoping from star to star to get to it (yes, slightly exaggerated lol)!!
I would keep mine if it had a better range. (keeping it to see what 1.3 gives. Don't want to lose 10% until I have to).
