LIGHTEST K-TYPE STAR
Musca Dark Region FX-S b4-9 A WITH 0.4297 SOLAR MASSES

CMDR OrderOfPhobos

please post all of record and cmdr name in CAPS please next time, makes it easier to copy and paste ;)

What about an Earth-like orbiting the most suns?

Here is one orbiting five of them:

nice find :D working on something at the moment, should be able to start adding new records soon keep your eye out :D

SYSTEM WITH THE MOST L-TYPE STARS
NU CENTAURI WITH 5 L-TYPE STARS

thanks, needed extra pics for site :D
I am not sure if the info I have is the actual new record but I am sure the information you have for nearest star type (Herbig Ae/Be) to colonized space has been superceeded by 4 Cygni since the colonisation of New Yembo, perhaps other records of this type may need to be reviewed in light of this.

all records in book are posted by cmdrs and there to be beaten :D If you have a find that beats a current record, post it here to claim it :)

Does this count? Binary Shepard Moon?
I havent got back to civilised space to claim the discovery but let me know if you want the system & object names

Nice find, but I don't think we can make a record from it

amazing journey :D the galactic records department salutes you o7

unfortunately not, nearly all metal rich planets have 100% metal content, look at the tag and description for the planet type.
the record we are actually after is lowest metal content for a metal rich planets it currently stands at 40.2%.
Aha, interesting. Thanks!

(i typed all that in CAPS) why did it convert it to lower case?

for some reason you need to put some lower case letters in your post or it converts all caps to lower case

Closest earth like planet to its own main star? 0.67 AU from a K star? Don't know if it qualifies, but i try.

CLOSEST EARTH LIKE PLANET TO ITS OWN STAR: OOCHORRS WG-W C18-1, PLANET 1, 0,67 AU

I don't know if it qualifies, or if is it common and it's the first time i notice, but i run into a "Red Giant" that was smaller than M Dwarf.

In the galaxy map it shows: M8 IVB, since the Roman Number is not V, it means it's not in main sequence.
At the surface scanner it gives M (Red Giant).

R is 0.4624
M is 0.2578

Mass means nothing, volume wise, but R... not that giant!!!! In fact the other star in the system is an M main sequence and it's bigger.
Scientifically speacking i think it would be possible and not a map error, i don't know if it qualifies for any record

SMALLEST RED GIANT: 0.4624 R (CLASS M8 IVB)
COL 70 SECTOR HB-S B22-1 Star B, 1222 Ly from Sol

Next to show it's not a Main Sequence from Galaxy Map

Note the distance and radius from cockpit are realistic with a 0,4 R

Unfortunately we don't currently do this record as I believe the semi major axis is from the centre of the star to the centre of planet, so a planet orbiting a star twice the size could also have a semi major axis of 0.67.
I think the correct way to work out distance is: semi major axis - radius of star - radius of planet = distance from star
I think its a bit to complicated to include as a record

these have come up in the past, unfortunately we don't have specific records for dwarfs, giants, supergiants, etc.
but I am planning on adding these at some point so keep a note of your system and watch this space ;)
