Anybody want to be instant billionaire?

When will you guys learn that naming and shaming is not allowed, even IF you are right with your suggestion.

I would hardly consider feeding back FD's own server info as contained in the Galnet to be naming and shaming but hey, if that is what it takes to get rid of this illegal-cargo-scan-between-friends, shoot my friend and he shoots me-and-we-both-become-billionares and giggle like schoolgirls afterwards exploit then I'm all for it!

This is not exactly naming and shaming: the bounty board is public and can be checked by anyone in the game. The OP just posted a screenshot of the already public and checkable by anyone bounty board.

And OP, I've seem some really high bounties, but nothing like those you posted.

I wonder what kind of wrongdoing is necessary to draw so much hate from the Powers That Be.

About them being farming accounts, not sure if that would be a smart move. I strongly suspect FD keeps an eye on any account/pilot that accrues a quite out of the ordinary mega billion credits bounty, so anyone collecting on it in a malicious/cheating way would be quite easy to trace - and punish.

Careful. You'll get an infraction for describing an exploit. ;)

Well if that turns out to be the case then I'd be seriously worried about the priorities and longevity of this game. At the very least some type of Dev team comment/confirmation of intervention should be mandatory to confirm addressing of the issue instead of the silence that has now been prevalent for weeks/months while this behaviour runs rampant in-game, unless of course I have missed said Dev commentary, in which case a point to the link would be appreciated.

I didn't see the top post before it was edited for naming and shaming, so I don't know the specific commander name, but I'm assuming its the top listed wanted player who was worth 1.6 billion.

If the game shows this players name why is it considered naming and shaming?

It was not before the second post.
Then it became the indirect accusation, with the 4th post even a direct accusation of people exploiting the game.
And this is just against the forum rules. Simple as that.

I said it before and will do it again.
Stuff like this leaves people guilty as soon as accusations have been made.
Look at the news, media in general, hype before anything else.
I feel sorry for anyone being falsely accused, sometimes, in real life with the results of lifes being destroyed.

It is not up to us, report them and let FD sort it out.
You also don't want your reputation being hit by a maybe false accusation do you?

16. No Naming and Shaming.
We do not allow "naming and shaming" discussions, or types of content deemed naming and shaming on the Frontier discussion board. Naming and Shaming is the act of publicly naming someone and ridiculing or accusing them of something. This also includes putting names on a blacklist in your signature or thread.

Then those making accusations should get infractions and have their posts edited and the original should stand NOT the other way round.

If I start to accuse every commander that is named of cheating should all commander names be removed from every thread?

A fair question, that you should direct to a mod :)

Its a fair point but I wonder when Frontier might actually DO something to address the blatant exploiting thats going on.

I am with you, all the way!
It seems they already started.
At least regarding the issue described above:

So let me get this straight.... I can increase my bounty and then make a friend kill me and we share the money (on my newly created profile)?

Yes, but now the most it can make you is 1M, so good luck with that. The exploit has been zapped. Finally.

You wouldn't share the money, the person killing you would get it all.
The accusation seems to be the players with large bounties are selling the opportunity to kill them for real money, a round about way of farming and selling in game credits.

and they adressed a little more, to add to my previous post:

Hello Commander jabokai!

I believe we could have used your solution to store the shield value when jumping to super cruise and restore it upon dropping down into normal space, but we think this wouldn't be quite as nice as the slightly more thorough solution; I would prefer to avoid situations where a ship could spend a very long time in super cruise and still drop out with no shields. Hopefully you would agree (especially as there's no benefit either way in terms of when we can get the fix out :))?

Hello Commander {SAS}Stalker!

Yes, we're aware of the teleportation issue (where ships using wing beacons were traveling enormous distances automatically), and again, I *think* we've spanked it. Turns out that ships could sometimes get into a situation where their "time horizon" (that determined what was close enough to trigger a wing beacon) covered the entire system.

No ETA on when these fixes will push through, but they're definitely coming!

***UPDATE***

Let's keep things friendly - nothing wrong with Commander jabokai's question.

You wouldn't share the money, the person killing you would get it all.

But the person who's killing me is still me.

I can go wild with my other account and then bring it to my main for a warrant scan.
This is just perfect, finally some money from mindlessly killing clean targets.
