What do you think DB meant by this?

I was thinking how fun and exciting it would be if, with 400,000 copies of the game sold, FD decided now was the time to unleash the Thargoids. There wouldn't have been enough CMDRs with good enough ships, yet. I just think it would be epic if CMDR VanDerMerwe stumbled on one Thargoid ship and went running back to human space -- with an entire armada following him.

There are hundreds of deep space explorers out there, they're definitely not celestial bodies.:D

True enough, but they have been THERE before wing.
David Braben on the other hand mentioned things that arrived with 1.2.
it is quite intriguing I am surprised it is not all over the forum.

Been there since Wings, aka 1.2

Thousands upon thousands of systems explored since then, and nobody found anything.

Sounds odd ?

What's the one scanner return every explorer ignores ?

The asteroid belts near stars. (exploration payout zero).

Just saying...

Why not. Or thousands and thousands of systems explored means their are just billions and billions left unexplored ;)

The floating speck is a graphical glitchcaused when you visit a system with a black hole or neutron star - but it'll persist to other systems I find during your session and not leave till you exit and come back.

Ah right, thanks man. So what happens when you haven't been to either of those systems? I also exited the game to upload the screens, and when I went back in, it was still there. It's not floating either, it's stationary, and in the same spot in each of the screen (between those craters).

Can't see that now, but few days ago Galnet mentioned something about avoid unknown wings, is it connected?

I noticed that was deleted too. There was a thread knocking around somewhere with a screen shot. Think it was 20th April, or something.

not sure if it's something unusual but i seen some wreck site last time, and I think it wasn't in USS

Speak of the devil, I came across one today (but in a USS). Here is me engaged in some illegal salvage :D

I know this isn't actually in deep space, but I saw a video on YouTube where someone found
the Voyager space probe in the Sol system. It was out there saying "hello" in a bunch of languages. I heard someone say that the English message being transmitted was the voice of David Braben.

Doesn't seem to be comets

According to the "First Discovered" list released just prior to 1.1, the Pipe (stem) Sector DL-Y d65 system had several comets
The ADS does not ping them and I cannot find them with Mk.I eye ball

I did come across a Weak Signal Source but it was just an Harmless Sidewinder

I'm just going to drop this here... and walk away.

I suggest reading the Dark Wheel (original title released in 1984 with the original Elite game). Elite: Reclamation is worth the read, or if you're exploring the audio book is well worth the listen. You may find some important clues.

The audio book is very high quality and professional. Toby Longworth did an amazing job voicing Drew's characters and Chris Jarvis incorporated the same skills he used to produce the Escape Velocity series into the production of the Elite: Reclamation audio book. It is not simply a narration of the book. It is an extremely immersive audio drama experience, one that even non-Elite fans would enjoy.

Happy hunting, CMDRs.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what awaits us out there, but this has been the source of the clues I have gleaned. I would like to think that there are other mysteries that await us as well. Maybe there are some from Kate Russell's and Allen Stroud's books too.
