Messing around with the available 5 lasers. Trying 2 or 3 beams with the rest pulse against Anacondas. Will report my findings. All modules except for the LS are A rated.

Fitted a class 4G cannon and felt meh. Really no need with the 4 lasers I have fitted. Tried the PA and also felt the same. I have no problem taking down Anacondas with the lasers. Anyone else fitted a lower class? The ship has a massive power plant. What is everyone's load out? I am using it only for combat at RES and CZ/WZ.

I am using 3 class laser.

Class 4 PA is fun trying to one shot Sideys and Eagles. My mate and i were at a Nav point in beta and he nailed an eagle on the nose with a ball for his PA -BOOM! one in a million shot. Was hilarious.

The large fixed beam laser is less than 1.2 million credits. This is less than any huge weapon, and less than many turreted large weapons. It's also only the fifth most expensive module on my relatively inexpensive FDL setup.

Use a C3 fixed beam in the C4 slot - best decision I ever made with the FdL. 2x Pulse and 2x multicannon (gimballed) in the class 2 slots. Amazingly versatile loadout that's good against pretty much everything.

Also, the C3 fixed beam does more damage to shields per unit time and per unit energy than the C4 plasma accelerator cannon - there was a nice post comparing all of the weapons somewhere on these forums with the details. And, assuming you can aim, you can actually hit a moving target at any range below 2 km with the beam.

This is exactly what I've been using.

I only swap to a huge weapon for AI Anaconda hunting really, and even then, it's more for the fun factor than any dramatic increase in effectiveness.

Sorry I was looking at another weapon. I switched the huge mount to a fixed beam. It just eats at the shields, and on the Anaconda the PP goes pop fast when lined up right and fire all 5 lasers.
