Rammers at George Lucas Station

*sigh*

I wish they would just ban these guys permanently into an alternate game universe where griefers/exploiters can only play with other griefers/exploiters.

We'd rule it. But seriously, you may get your wish soon. We killed Braben at the station 2x today in our Orcas. I found him in supercruise and killed him in my Anaconda. To his credit, he didn't even try to run in his Asp, he fought me until he died.

After been rammed to death 3x in two gameplay sessions I have decided to stay away from the George Lucas in Leesti. I used the "Report a player" in the main menu the last time it happened to me Do not suppose anything will happen though.
Maybe all bumps and scrapes and rams could result in the station or NPC Police firing on those ships. Might teach a lesson to those and make everyone a smoother pilot.
Perhaps if a griefer is reported by the Report a player option in the main menu, when that griefer cmdr re enters the game he/she (might not all be guys) could find themselves at the other side of the galaxy or if Frontier game moderators who monitor these reports (if they are monitored) could send an email to that cmdr telling him/her that there saves have been wiped and must start afresh.
Lastly, make a note of the cmdr's name who rams you, and the next time you come across them, Shoot them. :-D

Congratulations.

Welcome to my personal ban.

Best thing you can do with this troll is ignore folks.

If you get the chance target them and look at bottom left of screen or if you notice players when you enter the vicinity of a station check the contacts when you ask to dock.

Check the Galnet news in George Lucas....yesterday, I saw an item about a independent pilot initiative, forming up in Zaonce, which is a nearby system.

Myself and 3 others managed to drive them off yesterday.
Code, Pirates of Uranus and an unsung Privateer

I was the one sitting in my Conda letting them shoot me.

Myself, 2 FDLs, and a Vulture got their shields down and spanked their hulls.

They instantly ran.

You are welcome!

The Code, Protecting Leesti while its still Independent.

Meh... remove clipping for player ships. Not immersive, but a quick solution. Or do I mean remove non-clipping? :) Anyway... make it so PC craft simply glide through eachother.... at least until such a time as a more permanent solution can be found.

Thats still not a problem, you dont die from ramming in a decent ship. I dont unterstand you people, right now its still allowed but you hate them just because they dont let you fly like you want? Well this game has PVP, pirates and what ever, you can always be in trouble while playing in the open mode.
And after this we see stupid changes like the expected speed limit in 1.3, combined with a crime (not a fine) for accidently touching someone at 100km+
Hopefully FD will think twice about it and let people enjoy the game like they want for the sandbox expirience - even if their way is to ram other people into walls etc. The universe is big and we need a couple of psychos somewhere to keep it spicy and dangerous^^

A cure that's worse than the disease. No thanks.

We don't need negligent station protocol to aid in facilitating this.

I don't mind the rammers. Keeps me on my toes. Devs would do well to monitor things more closely though. If a CMDR gets reported for ramming, FD investigate. If they are a serial ram killer, that CMDR will find that all stations in the system have a welcoming committee of hostile police Anacondas waiting for them. i.e. maybe we need human monitoring of busy stations, rather than some contrived 100m/s rule.

1. Decent ship? They pick a starter system where a lot of beginners will be. Beginners can't afford what you refer to as 'decent ships'.
2. "let people enjoy the game like they want for the sandbox experience" - I think the quantity of players who'd prefer to play in open would also prefer not to have hours and hours of gameplay wasted for someone else's amusement without even a chance to fight back.
3. Get some perspective. People should be allowed to play how they want within reason.

It is a problem when they sit in the starter system right after steam release where I saw some people doing it

It might not be against any rules but it doesn't give a good impression of the player base for new players and it makes people quit the game pretty quick for new players
-
And you can die if your in a decent ship, these guys gang up with 3 ships a type 9, clipper and cobra and can easily ram a ship to death of most types while suffering mild damage as they use shield cells as they ram you so if your taken by surprise with 3 ships ramming you pretty much any ship is dead

FALSE. The only time's we shot anyone, we were far enough away to jump out once the station started attacking. Otherwise, the station wasn't firing on us. Neither of us has ever hacked this game.

Why the need for a newly created forum account just to post in this thread?

I'd just ignore him, whatever you say he will try and justify it
-
In game he started by saying they weren't exploiters despite him being "mostly harmless" in an anaconda and attacking players while being in a wing with the biggest known exploiter in Elite that already got a ban
-

Then he admitted his friend used to exploit but doesn't any more
-
Then he said that exploiting and hacking isn't cheating because it's part of the game code and anyone should use it to their advantage to win (and even told my friend how they got their credits, by doing something with illegal cargo and scanning but I don't know how that works exactly)
-
And they were flying around in 2 anacondas screaming on chat "why won't anyone fight us?!!!?!?!?"
Its because his friend is a known cheater
-
So me in my FDL and my friend in a vulture took up the challenge and gave a good fight almost bringing down the shields on one anaconda multiple times and they said we were in crappy
ships and were crappy pilots when they started leaving the fight first
-
Thats when they started ramming at the station because no one else would fight them
-
And they wonder why no one will fight them because they are becoming so well known that people just avoid them, all they are doing is digging a deeper hole for themselves and ramming is the only way they can get kills

1) People should learn2fly - if i get hit by a ship and see other 2 guys incoming, i dodge them. And anything from a fully outfitted vulture to python, FdL & conda (specially tank-conda) is really hard to damage, the shields are impressive and more than enough to survive 2 ram attacks if you dont boost yourself into them.
2) The starter system.. Well people who just came into the game - they dont loose anything. 5% of an eagle or hauler is what? Peanuts, 1 kill on a conda in the RES next to you will cover your insurance for days. Even my vulture with 1kk is not expensive to rebuy, should i die. I would probably carry more bounty/combat bond checkouts or missions where i cant lose my ship than my rebuy cost is worth (in money or in time to get back).
3) The universe is a dangerous place, the game itself has it in the name. I would like too see more options where you can actually die if you dont do it right. The high rebuy cost reduced the pvp activity, the solo/private mode did the rest. Is it wrong to expect a dangerous world where you can get destroyed everywhere, even inside a station? That would make the game interesting and "hard".
I know many people just want to fly around, trade and dont even bother about the danger outside by doing it solo, but for me its just wrong.

Hopefully FD realises that and bring more violence and deadly threats into elite (from both sides, NPC/environment and pvp). Just think about games like Rust and DayZ - there you can lose ANYTHING that you have got so far, here you lose only a small amount of money and progress if you die.

P.S. when you get close to the station, you have enough time to scan anything thats flying around - if you see more than 2 people, prepare yourself for the worst that can happen to you. Just as in other games where you have to be prepared for the worst.
And this is really great if the community can get a couple of psychos - we already have pirates and killing squads flying around. Elite would be really empty without this.

It doesn't matter

If people start the game and keep getting spawn killed it just gives them a bad impression of the community, most people will quit if that behaviour is common place (I know people who have, it doesn't make them weak or they need to "learn2play", they will just find another game where they can play normally without that
-
Yeah and you mention Dayz, the Mod version died pretty quick after they started giving out admin tools and 12 year olds were running servers and using legal hacks, for example I played a server saying it was for noobs to learn to play and I joined and was attacked by admins using invincibility and teleporting over and over again, they were "legal" hacks because the game creators gave the tools to admins themselves

-
People shouldn't "learn2fly"

-
Your probably going to say "go solo" and that's what a lot of people do, someone I used to play with wanted to play where he could meet other players, co-OP sometimes and fight others, not be spawn killed or hunted over and over by players with big ships in a starter system, it's the reason some games have a noob only area in online games, he quit because solo or private had no appeal to him

-
Your making out it's the fault of other pilots, I suspect your one of these kinds of people griefing
