Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

I think we're probably going to drive ourselves mad trying to find a pattern. We can't prove anything until we find one and when we find one it might not even matter. I say everyone should pick a system and trawl the signals. Do it between other things or do it in random systems. It's probably only going to happen randomly and without further clues we might as well approach it randomly.

This is what worry me more.
Random search into a whole galaxy is too much for a game

If anyone is interested to pause the search and go deeper into the ancient artifact transmission, i have a few in my cargo hold right now ... find me in game. :)

Yeah, I know anyone can do what they want with their files but that doesn't mean all of us want it spoiled by the exploits being posted on here.

By all means, look at any that are posted, but I feel that it will be a complete waste of any time you've put into this search.

That is all.

Probably I don't translate correctly your statement, but I would like to be clear: I never post anything. I'm not the people posting videos on reddit and I'm not the people lauching strange decryption hypotesis on the forum.
What I'm doing is searching in game with my ASP; I leave any file digging activities after founding it is not fun enough.
Believe me hat I was in faith.

Is there any item called "Alien Artefact" in the game?
There is some salvage called "AI Technology" or the like, but that's not the same.

Someone did mention that they found and sold 'Ancient Alien Artefacts' and sold them for 100k each.
This was before the 1.2 patch and back in Jan.

the confusing part is he said 'Ancient Alien' rather than just Alien or Ancient.
Now ancient artefacts don't sell for 100k cr, afaik. So what did he find that can be sold for that price?

I don't know if this has already been discussed, but you can tell your galaxy map to not show star/nebula names and to just show the names of "Regions".

That might be a good place to start if we haven't already thought of it.

So there aren't actually that many "Regions":
Sol
Achenar
Aldebaran
Castor
Capella
Pollux
Altair
Vega
Regulus
Arcturus
Alioth
Lave
ETA Herculis

(Outside occupied)
Polaris
NGC 6357

The UA-s are probably not in Witch's Reach nor LFT 509, even if a permit could be obtained for those systems. (See this QA reply to a bug report I filed near the end of March.) The patch notes said that salvage convoys were added there, and the same salvage convoys in Isinor occur very frequently. So, that would contradict MB's words that the unknown artifacts are exceedingly rare.
Unless those Isinor convoys very rarely carry unknown artifacts instead of their usual haul of ancient artifacts, which I doubt. There's nothing in-game that would connect the system to rumors about unknown artifacts. As far as I know, the only system description that mentions rumors of alien artifacts is that of Peregrina, no?

No I wasn't referring directly to you aha I meant those that want to do file digging.

Mind you as long as we're warned and there's spoiler tags, I suppose it doesn't matter.

I just thought it best if we didn't look into them because this thread concerns the in game search.

Not the whole galaxy for all of us. Just pick one system.
Pick one system... randomly...

It could be not too much but in Pleione there are a lot of WSS (1 every 2/3 minutes), especially near the cluster belt.
I'm alone at the moment

Yes, indeed.
I would like to have fun, not to do some work also in game time.

I'll be in game in a few hours.

Those of us that are in Timocani should spread out a little bit further. I know some of you are, I see you all in other systems.
Spread around maybe 3-5 systems circa. That was the area I was in for over 3 weeks. I never left that area.
The thing is, with mmo's, when there is alot of players in the same instance, the spawn rate changes to compensate.

In simple terms, if the drop rate was every 100 say, then 100 players can just turn up, enter 1 WSS each and someone would get the drop almost straight away assuming RNG is kind. (it doesn't work like, just for example).
So it has to be balanced somehow to keep the drop rate still rare.

This could prove very helpful.

I believe we can already start crossing systems off that list.

In addition to those regions, I also managed to find a list of all the non-procedurally generated star systems in Elite Dangerous.

I'm imagining if the UA is restricted to regions then it's likely to be restricted to systems hand-made by Frontier. Just a thought.

Vega sticks out for me but not sure why...which one is Timocani in?

There's what over 100 systems there?

Are there over 100 of us searching?

If so maybe we should pick a system each....is it worth it?

I hope to do a mistake, but in the AMA DB refers to deep space objects and I thik he means deep "unexplored" space, but this is only my opinion.

I think it's true that any custom content (e.g. Thargoid space station, Pioneer probes etc) would only be in those systems, I don't see why UA drops from SS would be limited to those systems.
