How rare are Ae/Be stars?

How rare are they? Would they be generated by the forge or inserted, as they seem less common than Black holes.

Worth a scan?

According to the wiki it is classed as Legendary (what ever that mean). I has been to two that are not that far away from Civ-space. With the Legendary tag attached to it I was hoping for some impressive sights but its basically a T-Tauri. Don't know about the value to Cartographers though.

They are pretty rare, but they do appear in procedurally generated systems. I don't think they are worth much in credits though. Only black holes, neutron stars & white dwarfs seem to be worth much more than an average star.

They appear mostly in clusters. Single ones are also fairly regular at 1000LY and more below the plane. When you hit them they are a dime a dozen, literally everywhere. Only seen one orange one though.

Boo, it spins pretty fast though. Pretty cool looking, and was bright on approach.

Found it within a bunch of unscoopables around 100 times older than it.

Would the clusters be closer to the core?

They are quite rare, but like all other rare stars are very common near the core. I once found this type of star as a secondary in a system maybe 1000 ly rimward from Sol (I was first discoverer). It went unnoticed because the primary star in the system was a sequence star and thus Ae/Be didn't show up on the filter. I advise looking around manually sometimes -- you can find real gems that way, even far from the core.

Yeah, found this one on the edge of Perseus.

I've found one, also in Perseus.

I'm fairly certain they are rarer than black holes, although its hard to be sure by how much since its easier to pick off black holes from a distance either by looking for non-sequence or checking out O-class.

They also spin incredibly fast, like once every 5-10 seconds.

This.^

They are rare, yes, but you can find loads if you are in the right place.

Found one yesterday (first time) and saw this thread... :)
