Community Event / Creation Printable Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS reference sheet

To close the loop on this thread, I delved into the XML file containing the key bindings and found the setting I wanted to use was assigned to "Mute Microphone" (although that's not one I set myself). I deleted that, applied the settings, went back into the control options and was then able to use JOY 9 + POV1-DOWN.

So it appears I triggered a minor bug, but was able to work around it.

Thanks!

Does your setup still show the folder named bindings thou? I know mine's ends at options. Sorry couldn't quote you keeps saying i'm spamming for some reason. :S

It really depends on your play style, and my stick settings have been modified over the last few months. The great thing about the T-Flight HOTAS X is that you can assign buttons as "modifiers", so it's a bit like have extra keys on a keyboard (e.g., JOY1 can do something different to JOY9+JOY1). By using modifiers, I can do pretty much all commands without taking my hands off the stick.

Definitely start with one of the setups from that thread and tweak it to your liking, the default binds are really weak IMO, you absolutely need fast access to thrusters for any HOTAS setup.

thx again. I downloaded the authors diagram, with and without key assignments. hotas comes tomorrow late afternoon. can't wait although I am somewhat concerned having never used a joystick or joystick/throttle before, ever. I have used keyboard since buying game a couple months ago and it works fine but everyone says to get joystick for even better control. I am noping I can get used to it. anyway thx for all the help. the post linked was/is awesome!

T.Flight Hotas throttle setuo

I have the increase throttle set to + joy z-axis and the decrease throttle to - joy-z-axis. this should let me advance throttle into the red (forward) to speed up to full speed and bring it back down (towards white) to reduce speed. it does the exact opposite. I have tried using reverse axis but it still slows going up and speeds up going down. I held the cursor over the setting and it says digital. my question is how to change it to analog as somewhere I read it needed to be analog. I am confused so hopefully someone will have pity on me and help.

Sounds like you've assigned throttle up and throttle down separately, this is the wrong thing to do.

iirc there's an option to assign throttle to z-axis (called something like full range)

nope. no movement, I have the forward/o speed working but throttle is delayed response.m how do im change it tom analog vs digital?

Yes it does. Maybe you've made it a hidden folder by accident?

Won't let me quote either,

Already tried delete/re-add, no worky worky

Hmm, odd. Try deleting the whole Frontier Developments folder (and maybe the other one in C:\users\appdata\local as well) and then starting the game again, which should create a new folder(s) under appdata.

@ Mods: not a great move slapping Crab's thread right into this one imo...

@ Dave lister 3rd Nah I guess something went a miss when I installed and I don't wanna remove and redownload since I did most of it manually by now. Not sure honestly what happened to it. Thanks thou

When you setup the controls, just press the "modifier" button first, then tap the second button and let both go (it's easier to do than to explain!)

Ran across this thread entirely by chance from a Google search for something else. It's been really useful. Thanks to everyone who's contributed, especially Shorn explaining the modifiers - I didn't know you could do that! :D

Hey Dean,

Thanks for the bindings! I'm now using these on my T.Flight. I swapped the twist to be roll, but I really like it. Thanks again. Let us know if you release any updates!

Thought I post my setup & .binds for anyone that comes across this thread as I did.
I've modified it to include some of the functions required for wings.
The link below is to the google doc and there is a link to the .binds file within the doc.

Hope someone at least finds it useful!

fanastic work thanks so much for this, been playing about for an hour trying to find the best setup and this looks to be it! I've been mapping them like crazy until I realised I wasn't sure how to do the modifiers, now I realise I can install a bindings file lol

thanks again
