So just to be clear.
I have an Unknown Artifact in my hold and currently docked at Krylov Ring in the He Bo system.
There is a local Galnet news article offering a reward for this item. (the article has a white 'pin' icon in the top left which I've not seen before).
How do I hand this in?

I will be doing the same with my artifact. Thinking about possibly taking it to Leonard Nimoy Station eventually because of the trailer.

Perhaps we need to "DO" something to it to activate it? Perhaps when drones are available?
Maybe fire the advanced discovery scanner to see if it "wakes up".
Cargo scan it?
KWS scan it?
How about firing ECM?
Just thinking of items in game now that we could try out.

However, I confess I'd be suprised (most pleasantly mind you!), if there is a hidden message in the audio at all.

To that point: any message from an alien race, hidden or otherwise, and intended to be received by another species, I'd expect to be in mathematics, no? If the tones in the audio are indeed a clue/message, I'd start trying to link it to a base number system such as binary, or perhaps another base we haven't considered. I think someone in this thread has already touched on that, but I'm skimming while at work. My apologies if you folks are already on this.

I am starting to think that the clues will be found in game, not relying on another third party tool.
Regarding the language between two races.. I think humans have communicated to the Thargoids in the past, signing a treaty. So there should be an established way to communicate. But why assume the UA has a message ment for humans?

I am starting to think that the devs were waiting for us to find the artifact, only to introduce the next step in this hunt.. OR .. the UA was the easter egg.. and there is nothing more to it.

That assumes Sol is 0,0,0. What is 0,0,0 is the Thargoid homeworld instead?


Anyways.
I also think this should be something that should be "figurable" without a spectral analyser. Though, maybe you need to know a reference to some existing tune, or smth...

Don't hand It in, ignore the galnet it's player made an utterly pointless to in game. Try taking it to sol, earth. Just to rule that out.

not much on black market. The reward however is 1 million credits.

not bothered by the reward but hoped this might activate or unlock something...

I tired the Adv. DS, and CWS. I also jettisoned it by a M3 sun.. nothing happened. I also tried to refine it.. nothing. Ill try the ECM for the hell of it.

That is a reward offered by players from this thread it was a player submitted article. Unfortunately you weren't the first, we can't move for the damn things now. ;) Good job though.

Yeah the galnet post was about the reward mentioned on page one of this thread. And redwizzard beat everyone else to it......and its a lot more than 1 mill!
