Take it to George Lucas! may the fourth be with you! (Just kidding, take it to sol!!)

George Lucas sounds reasonable. We have to try everything.
It could interact with the probes or something at SOL.

Also, whales, water, Thargoids were interested in Merlin in ROSS 154, a terraformed water world. Same as Peregrina. Maybe close to these worlds we get an different sound.
Who knows, try everything, just don't pour water on it :D

Forget anything with 1444 or 1681 on the Z axis (middle number). It's too high up and there's as good as no stars up there.
That leaves you the ones with 484 and 625 on the Z axis.
484, 625, 1444
625, 484, 1444
1444, 484, 625
1444, 625, 484
1444, 625, 1681
1681, 625, 1444

and
1681, 484, 1444

It's kindof obvious - but it's worth noting that all of those numbers are exact squares.

1681 is 41 squared
484 is 22 squared
625 is 25 squared
1444 is 38 squared

(so maybe look a little closer to home?)

Guys POlaris requires a permit, we should try andbring that thing there, i mean it's a big ass star in the middle of nowhere and it requires a permit...

Another idea (just tossing it here, I have unfortunately no time to investigate it more). What if these "binary" numbers are jump distances, let's expect from Sirius? It can make sense, if UA is some kind of distress beacon, it may say: "star in XX distance" (notes), then "jump" (honk), "another star in XX distance", etc. Maybe it is a nonsense, but it has some logic behind. ;)

I think that's how he got them earlier in the thread (he put some other numbers to the power of 2...). To be honest, I think most of that is far beyond what FD would have done here.

Here are some ideas:

Has anyone gathered all the system names where they've been found? I wonder if you were to plot those systems on the galaxy map if they'd form some kind of trail to follow.

The Thargoids are an insect race, but do they form a hive like some Earth insects? If they do form hives perhaps more than one of these objects have to be in close proximity to each other in order to get the full message. Is anyone able to jettison two or more as close to each other as possible to see if the sounds change?

It seems to emit some kind of distortion field, and it's been said here that they could be organic frame shift drives. Maybe speed has something to do with it. Would jettisoning one while in supercruise be beneficial?

wow, that really looks like it has a face in that pic, with the glowing insectoid side as the forehead...

How big are these canisters.
Each pod could have a Thargoid in it, like a prison for naughty one's :D

I doubt it's Thargoid but another alien species/bacteria that they use to harness power.

Just a thought. If the UA is transmitting coordinates perhaps it is transmitting coordinates to the home world on its whereabouts. If the sounds change in another system than it is definitely coordinates and we can extrapolate the 0,0,0 which should be their home world and not Sol.

Can't join the hunt I am afraid. Sick as a dog and following the thread from a sofa. At least this keeps me going :)

Erm, if you look back in the thread, that's because I squared the original values - guessing that the Honk+high note at the end of a sequence may have represented a raise to a power... ;)

The original values seem too low to be coordinates, and I was guessing at the significance of the honk+high note.
