Hello All,
As many of you already concluded, reaching CG "Defending independent Quivira" in Open play (that means PvP) is not very productive.
I learned this two days ago on hard way:
- I prepared my Vulture for possible PvP destruction (downgrade armour from "mirrored" to "military", downsize FSD from A5 to D2)
- I entered CZ and waited to choose faction until I was securely close with my faction ships. I declared myself... All greens, nothing to shoot.
- Once a while red dot NPC apears, and be destroyed by so many shooters, there is no chance for me to get any bounty.
- Every 10 minutes enemy CMDR appears (Phyton or FdL), but quickly flees, as
- After 30 minutes , and measly 50k Cr I was bored and decided to have a chase on next enemy CMDR on my radar...
There he was in Clippy, one and only...He runned away, me behind, with FA-Off. No one else went for him, just me.
Suddenly I found myself surrounded by 4 un-declared CMDR-s. A few seconds later there were 5 ships firing on me, one and lonely...
In less than 20seconds I was dead. NO chance of SuperCruise, as my modules malfunctioned even with power priority lists well defined.
- 1 MCr of insurance later I rethink my strategy, and decided I was not carefull enough, so I should try it again
- Waiting in middle of CZ, all CMDRs not a single NPC. Everybody is green and just waiting in Phytons and FdL-s. Lagg is visible on ships flight paths. Im bored.
Occasionaly red dot CMDR appears, but flees away chased by 3,4 green CMDRS (in wing).
Cautiosly, I venture off the CZ centre for about 15 km. Suddenly I see a lot of red dots.
- Time to run away, as some enemy CMDRS started to fire, too many of them at single me.
After rethinking strategy again, I concluded If I want to produce combat bonds, I could do it in SOLO mode much more effective, as only NPC-s will be in my instance.
OPEN PLAY is too crowded with CMDR-s (undeclared and in wings, waiting for victims) to produce Combat Bonding effectively.
So I changd to SOLO mode, and in 8 hours of gampelay I produced 4M Cr, achieving top 40%, and that is expected with Vulture.
With FdL or Phyton it could be double, due to their weapons capacity and speed of enemy destruction.
I dont know how much better is Annaconda handling in producing Combat Bonds from those two.
This is my experience and opinion:
- CG-s are not PvP oriented gameplay, YET, of this version.
- Higher CG rewards are easier to achive with bigger combat ships.
