What Grinds Your Gears?

1) Constant screen shake - eye fatigue adds nothing to the game experience.
2) Fake physics straight jacket flight model
3) Broken star distribution and Edev's it'll do attitude towards it.
4) Insult simplicity missions
5) 20years old freight / economy model
6) Mining
7) ADS
8) Missing planet holes in the system map that shows that the ship computer knows theres a planet there even though it doesnt know about the planet there!
9) galaxy map reset on exit from system map
10) Sidewinder "I'm a hammond organ in space" thruster sound effect
11) Asp "I'm a sopwith camel / fart cushion in space" thruster sound effect.
12) funeral processions that will take 1000's of years to reach there destination.

You want to know what grinds my gears? All this meaningless bars and arrows when completing missions. All the meaningless letters and bars when choosing modules. Give us numbers Frontier. Having players guess how your game works isn't good or fun. It's bad game design. Most of us are operating in the dark, wasting time and credits with trial and error experiments. It doesn't add to the immersion because it is illogical that the guy selling you a cannon doesn't know what the difference is between that cannon and the slightly more shiny cannon. It is illogical that no one knows how a mission will affect a system/faction, except with showing you vague arrows.

Also, playing dice rolls with Unidentified Signal Sources when having a mission, and all those mission fork encounters that bug the main mission, and offer crappiest rewards than completing the original objective.

I don't want to write another novel so I'll only list a couple.
no skins for the conda.
lag at CG's
the lack of outfitting options
smuggling doesn't exist
salvaging doesn't exist
the market cap for all goods
the ten minute delay for rares
the bounty for murder is rediculously low and easy to clear
npcs
community goal news and duration
the type 9's jump range
super cruise sound
exploration in general
drones being consumables
limpets
rail gun and fragment cannon ammo
im just going to stop there.

People who constantly come on the forums speculating that ED will die an early death because the game doesn't work the way they want to play.

1) People posting meaningless polls on the forums because they think it somehow makes them cool or more relevant.
2) All the errors that continually show up in the Gaffenet feed. :D
3) Lack of bobbleheads!

Give this man a coconut, excellent points- esp the first. I hate endless cretinous polls used to frame poorly-researched rants :)

Broken missions annoy the bejaysis out of me, as does p2p networking, when you find yourself playing in an instance which apparently belongs to someone using damp string. Having the carp shot out of you by the station when you rise out of the hangar (as the station attacks stalled NPCs) isn't pleasant, either.

Self infatuated people who assume and lie with no real motive other then only to make themselves look high and mighty in front of others.

space clowns ..

anti slave trade movements ...

Python haters..

Galaxy map LAG ..

and whoever decided the jump range and power plant restrictions on the FDL and Vulture.

Three things in no particular order of impact to blood pressure:

1. "Loose seatbelt effect". The GUI sliding in and out when you change speed drives me crazy. Add that it makes parts of the GUI go off screen, and my gears are grinding.

2. I had three things, but I'm old, and can't remember #2.

3. Eye bleeding jaggies inside stations. I know, it's a combo of FD not really caring, and my low 5760x1080 resolution, but it really jumps out at me and stabs me in the brain stem every second I'm in the station.

These three things combined seriously detract from my desire to play the game. I still do though. :(

Medium sized landing pads.
The lack of a ship courier system currently.
uhhh
Republicans.
Democrats.
The current lack of an inter-system jump ability for stars over 15k LS from the primary star.
Cheap chicken and pork hot dogs.
The local spirit shop raising the price of my usual brand of bourbon by 20 cents when I go in with exact change and have to get something 20 cents cheaper.

1. Accidentally hitting "Launch" the second I land forcing me to exit the station and request docking again.
2. Federation classifying me as hostile for an unknown reason. Trading Kamorin Weapons Idk? They attack me on site now so IDC going Imperial or Allied. They've chosen their fate.
3. A couple systems, usually white stars seem glitchy and force you to emergency drop on entry.
4. Flying too close to a star and losing 28+ tons of rares because cargo hatch fails. (not really a complaint but scary as ****, lol)
5. No custom colors for HUD
6. No dancing holo-girls... for the love of Diso, at least give me a holo-companion in the cockpit. I may settle for a small monkey that replaces the default "Under Attack" notification with "monkey screech noises"

All dropped cargo being tagged as stolen goods regardless of who or what dropped them. Some should be salvageable. (All of it was in original Elite.)
Stutter when jumping between systems.
The limited type of missions.

The last 20 seconds or so of a supercruise. This is the part of the game way I find myself questioning my sanity for playing.

So when I blow a ship apart and there are a few canisters floating in space did the NPC jettison or abandon them?

No, that is almost entirely unrelated to what I wrote; a curious leap, at best.

I was responding to...

All dropped cargo being tagged as stolen goods regardless of who or what dropped them. Some should be salvageable.

...which is inaccurate. Some cargo may be salvaged without being automatically marked stolen; that which is abandoned.

What's grinding my gears is spending (my only) half a million on an exploration ship and wasting about fifty hours exploring, only to realize I could have made more cash/progress in an hour bounty hunting in the sidewinder.
