Is the ASP Propeller driven?

Sorry that my first post is a bit negative but I have been on a long grind to purchase an ASP. On the whole its fine but the thruster noise is terrible. I was expecting something meaty strong and sexy. Maybe its me as I have been flown FSX and X-plane for years but is sounds as if I am flying a Boeing Stearman. Prop noise in space - it's a first........

I prefer to think of it as an inefficient thruster heat venting system that causes rattling and gas escape that sounds like propellers. Think of it like when you fill your mouth with air, then slack your lips and push the air out. That kind of effect. But yeah it's a bit of a reach to come up with a reason why we'd hear that sound

Have to disagree with you, the Asp is one of the best sounding ships in the game.

Yep, same here - one of the best feature of the ASP - exactly that sound when you push the engines to the limit

Yeah, the Asp sounds great. There are always ways to justify why something sounds the way it does. Just because it sounds like a propeller doesn't meant that's what is going on.

No offense intended but the way I read the OP is like someone saying they're disappointed because they ordered steak and got a prime cut of fillet, cooked perfectly rare and served with a glass of the best red, followed with an eclectic cheese board.

The Asp is meaty, dirty and it growls. Modelling its audio on a b52 bomber is as meaty as you could get.

I do love me the Asp engine sound. Cutting a corner in a RES, hoping you don't belly-flop onto an asteroid (was there one there? shoot, I can't recall!!!) and hearing that throaty roar....

With plenty of bass the asp is awesome, i love the sound, it does sound a little like some old bomber but I like that.

The Annie has the most disappointing audio in the game. It's OK. But for what it is...
