Ships any news on the Diamondback yet?

I love my ASP for exploring, have not done much trading (I have a T-7) or combat ( I have a Vulture) in it. Hopefully the Diamondback will give me a good jump distance and good weapon payload in case I run into nasties while out on the fringes. Been holding out on venturing on my ASP until the Diamondback specs are published.

Definitely feeling that my projections of it being between a Cobra and Asp is justified - that cockpit says it all for size.

Yeah as I suspected, it's a pretty small ship. I still stand by my prediction that it will cost 1-2 millions... maaaybe up to 3-4.

Closer to the Asp than the Cobra. Looks bigger than a Vulture. And notice the tiny pilot in the chair. Cool.

I'm getting that ship, no matter how good or bad that thing flies - it's the best looking ship in the game.

These were in today's newsletter.

The docked one looks, like it is sitting on a small pad. The ship looks small in comparison to the pad. It could be between Viper and Vulture.

My guess is the Diamondback will have a high armour value, as the name would suggest... if it turns out to be a cargo ship.. then you have added protection after being interdicted, however this wont stop thrusters been brought down.. all speculation of course.. we shall wait and see

You're mistaken about that chair - compare it to other ships, that's a small ship. Don't know how small, but I'm guessing it'll fit on small pads (probably appropriate to dock at outposts)

I'm actually thinking Viper or Eagle, looking at it currently.

It's an fighter/explorer (already stated by devs). From the looks of its size (both general shape and proportions based on that cockpit chair) it is not going to have much in the way of cargo room.

(also, diamondback is a snake name, not a reference to its back being tough as diamond)

Yep. When you look at the Asp's front, it becomes clear that the Diamondback is at least 1/3 smaller, maybe even 1/2.
