how much the ticket?;p

Everyone rides for free here! Just make your statement, defend it, and realize you will spend a large amount of time to arrive at the same place you started at. To save you the effort, I would suggest just saying to yourself 'I dismiss your opinion because I disagree!' and 'No one is going to tell me how to play this game!'.

Okay, so since PowerPlay is just around the corner, what Is essentially going to stop a really dedicated and really coordinate large mass of players from just going into private or solo and completely messing with the influence of a system? These are just basic examples, again, its not a problem of choice, its just a question on a development point of view of it. It seems more or less conflicting.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Every group that wants to be a power better come to grips with this quickly. You really want to make yourself sick..answer this question: 'What happens when your group becomes a Power!'...in other words, 'Why bother?'

Okay, so let's use Mobius for example, let's say they all decided to be say, Imperial. I don't see any group as massive as them that could potentially stop that.

They use private and solo, so while an observer or their opposition might see influence influxes, there isn't a way to say shoot them if they were doing missions (Which as you know when they fail it, harms the faction they failed it for).

You don't stop them by shooting them, you stop them by aiding rival factions.

Last I heard Mobius had over 8k members. So yes, if they support a faction that faction will probably rise. But isn't that logical? If a faction has such overwhelming support, whatever mode they play, won't it start to dominate anyway?

Though, as we are mixed factions, I highly doubt you'd get us all to support a single faction.

I actually liked Ideas Man - he had some fun things to say.

Me too, not seen him in ages, we had some fun chats when he wasn't too busy changing his mind every 30 seconds.

And as I said I did like his sig, well then it was Tex's, then they shared it, but it made me smile.

So far they all seem OK, lets see how it goes, if I start reading about "tears" I will change my mind I am sure.

I like Wheaton's Law.

I have absolutely no problem with the Xbox Crew doing their own thing, and again, this comes back to the exact same argument for them. Which would be more apparent for them.

What works on a console, doesn't necessarily work on a PC and vise versa.

This entire thread is literally going in a circle.

Over 11K posts already when you add the first version of the thread, and that doesn't include all the discussion about the subject that has been happening ever since the forums opened, way before Alpha. How could it not be going in a circle, when you have people trying to get Frontier to go back on a core element of their design and rehashing the same arguments for over two years?

BTW, it's not just the Xbox crew doing their thing. It's them doing the Community Goals and Power Play content and influencing the simulation while you, as a PC player, are completely unable to ever directly act against them, in exactly the same way that you are unable to directly act against players in solo or group modes. And also in exactly the same way players that choose to not leave solo or group can't ever directly act against players in open.

'No one is going to tell me how to play this game!'.

Isn't this exactly the point? The devs kinda promised that no other player would ever be able to tell us how to play, and a fair part of the player base has latched on to this. Myself included, I will do whatever needed in order to not allow others to force me into any kind of gameplay.

So, is the Mobius group on the verge of becoming a meme? :p

Hello everyone! Once again, I should reiterate that I was merely using Mobius as entirely as an example. Don't think this is to cause fear and say "Oh no Mobius is doing x!", faaarr from it, I personally want to see more groups flourish and contribute to this diverse, unique and friendly community we already have. All groups of players have their intended rights to play as they want, the beauty of this game is that overall, individually, everyone is unimportant and insignificant in the large spectrum of the galaxy. We're just all along for the ride, but as groups and factions, we're more and more relevant right? Those deserve a little more respect, BUT they are still insignificant to the factions; we're just following their 'respective leads'. (We can't lead factions, own capital ships, name ships/stations/systems yet, etc. from what I understand)

Looking at the Dev Diaries from way back and reflecting on now, solo players (Lone Wolves) should have it a little tougher than coordinated and clever groups overall. I don't see a problem with private groups or solo, just some bits and pieces here and there where its just desensitizes the value of Open Play, but that is a tiny problem. Sure the Background Simulator is a bit silly with how it's handle that now, but I'm sure PowerPlay and time will make things work and fun for all. I don't think reducing the profits generated by a solo player is necessarily fair, rather, making it harder to kill ships alone would be a better solution. But this is just one tiny example of what Frontier Developments is currently facing. They have unique problems and I'm more than confident they'll make something that suites the game respective and compromises so we all benefit.

Regarding the Xbox Platformer aspect part of it, that is entirely fine I suppose. I see their situation a tad bit differently and it seems to be more of a gaming platform problem which I have to say, is entirely up to Frontier as to how they perform it. Frontier Developments has a really interesting situation and ways they can go about it and still make it fair for both platforms. They have the experience working on Consoles, So I'm more than confident they'll impress. There are some bits I'm interested in How Kinect will suit the game, Will console players be given the ability to speak in local/system/global with their voices rather than typing, how well the game will be optimized for the console version, etc. (I assume the one with the microphone is going to have to be a yes, and have players have the ability to type with one of the accessories)

I do have to note that what works on the PC version, does not necessarily work on a console and vice versa. From what this post indicates, we'll all share the same servers. Which is going to be cool and outright interesting. I wouldn't want them feeling they have a 'dumbed down' version and have to adjust by ignoring players in open or retreating to Solo because they just outright cannot compete. I wonder if we'll have some sort of global chat overall or something more than simply a system/local chat. Maybe more user friendly tools for Groups? (My only Complaint is that the Group tools are fairly lacking and I hope this isn't the case with the factions in PowerPlay.)

In short, Frontier Developments has a very cool and interesting situation on a multiplayer aspect. I'm fairly optimistic and am willing to wait to see their responses to those problems.

tl;dr While I personally believe some elements stick out as weird and just bizarre, I'm sure a compromise will be made that doesn't hinder any play mode. You have the right to play as you want and that is the most important bit that should be embraced. Console players should also have that treatment and shouldn't feel alienated or pressured to be forced into a different play mode because of potential advantages PC gamers have.

Unrelated: Ian M Norman made this Signature picture for the winners of the Titan Black scavenger hunt, I was trying to help him win as well. Unfortunately, that did not occur, but I wear this Signature as a symbol of pride and commemorate his artistic style instead. (I think this also pokes fun at the picture they had for the contest where it was similar to the background, except it had a canister instead.)

The Relationship Piracy and Bounty Hunters had was a bit destroyed when we had a patch come in. Community goals providing incentives like money isn't the way to go about bringing players to Open. I remember seeing a CMDR who was in a trading ship that managed to help I think the BD+03 2338 CG and evaded the blockade and got mentioned on the GalNet. Things like that, praise for your bravery and potentially cosmetics for decals (We really need more diversity in those) would be a good way to start looking at it.

Since technically we are tiny and need somewhere to start our story, the concept of risk and reward is something that should well in fact flourish.

I think fundamentally speaking looking at it from a Development Point Of View, they would simply have to make it just tougher to do things by yourself. Reinforce the value of wings, make the values of teaming up, joining a crew, anything involving social aspects to be great. HOWEVER, it cannot exclude the Solo aspect to it. Its important to not to Alienate anyone.

So for example, if a player is notorious for helping/attacking/whatever they should be rewarded for their actions and taking severe risks to them and their ship for their efforts. Likewise, this is also to go to Solo, but they don't get the exclusive things that can be earned in Open or Private. There needs to be incentives that scale as you go up the chain.

Which would all be determined as to how you play and which mode you chose for whatever event. It needs to reward them from Open being the most 'coveted', Private being the second best and Solo being third. HOWEVER it is simply cosmetic and a testament to the player.

I updated that post by the way, I'm not trying to avoid the question, its just really really hard to answer, and it needs some sort of compromise. Also, I'm just trying to answer this statement that you said :

Dont forget many ppl want to be at open but they forced to be on group/solo modes thats the problem open have ...solve that and will be good and more fun the open mode ...:D

Which is literally, what Frontier Developments is trying to officially answer. That statement you made indicates a compromise of some sort that needs to be formally addressed. (Also could you please word it better, I had some problems understanding what you were getting at originally.)

Again, the purpose is to just reward players for their accomplishments in their respective modes and in turn, show viewers what they brought to the table. Be it Solo, Private or Open. That's how I would tackle it anyways, there just needs to be a compromise of some sort. That's all.
