Powerplay 1.3, The new faster docking computer. (Video)

What with this and mining drones it getting all too easy.

Pilots should be made to dock, blindfolded with no thrusters and no yaw, just rotation and faster/slower controls.

Unless I'm mistaken ... it does (and did in the two videos the OP linked to)

Try it now before the 1.3 update ... last time I tried the docking computer, it pointed my nose downwards, then flew up (which would be forward as you come through the letterbox)

now THAT was weird & scary :D

EDIT: It was like this ...

You owe me a new pair of pants, because i just peed myself with laughter.
Absolutely hilarious video, and a perfect example of the new V old DC .
Would you mind if i included this in my OP, just to show how bad it used to be.

Still too slow for my taste. But if you always have a minute to do something else when you dock I can see why someone would use it.

The best docking computer you can get is a 360 controller or a flight stick though, really is super fast. Even faster with a Rift, in fact it's insanely fast in the Rift with the added presence.

It's Mahd Dogg's video, not mine, and I'm not Mahd Dogg (no disrespect intended)

I can't speak for him, but I'd imagine it's OK.

That looks great, outpost docking is currently awful. It's great to see such a radical improvement in the speed, though it'll be squeaky bum time watching it dock my Anaconda for the first few times lol

I have seen a histarical video about the old docking computer where the guy was flying a type-6, it went in backwards and did a 180 yaw halfway through.

it was a scary moment when i landed at an outpost and it threw my anaconda nose down at the pad like i was doing a bungee jump...

That was mine. Docking Computer Follies. I deleted it yesterday as YouTube placed a copyright violation on my account for the Strauss music.

The Docking Computer may be at fault for a crash, but it's always the pilots responsibility.
