Thats just the Level: "Not afraid of landings anymore"... not a big task!

What I recently found (of course because I didn't read something properly) You can jump to specific stars in an system in this built.

Anyone else mentioned that?

If Michael is still about, or if anyone else is able to advise ..

I understand a new PP feature will be to target planet bodies from the local system map ..
Is it the case that this will be for all systems, by which I mean unexplored ones?
The exploration of deep space, finding planets by paralax is a lot of fun and very cool.
Once you have discovered a planet I've no problem with targeting from the map.
But if undiscovered targets are clickable then obviously that removes the exploration mechanic ...

It might be a dumb question to which the answer is of course FD would never do that,
But is anyone able to advise, whether even undiscovered bodies will be targetable from system map,
Set my tiny mind to rest?

Thanks in advance

It means you have to be ranked Mostly Harmless, Mostly Penniless or Mostly Aimless or higher to participate in Powerplay.

Michael

I think you should consider making the threshold rank 3 instead of rank 2. Rank 2 is very quick and easy to get and won't provide much protection against either new players joining a Power before they understand the consequences or people using alts to sabotage a Power. Rank 3 is still a low enough barrier to entry so as not to be discouraging.

Dev teams work 24/24 at this rhythm of updates. Congratulations !

Is that 24 hours a week, 24 days a month? ;)

You check the system map and can select a specific star for Your Hyperjump!

Thats great!

I wonder that was not told in the Changelog, because it is something the comunity was looking for!

IIRC that was listed on one of the earlier changelogs. Regardless, that is definitely a welcome addition to mapping out a flight plan and initializing it.

Does that mean you can just jump straight to Hutton Orbital? I do hope not. Otherwise what am I going to do with my hold full of comedy t-shirts?

Another day without the full release :D
"Beta starts at 20th,....oh no a week later, but we will release after a week.......eeeh I mean two weeks....eh three weeks...."

I would prefer to wait patiently for the Beta's to iron out most of the bugs before FD rush out the live update. I remember when 1.2 was released and we had day after day of patches to correct some serious problems.

It most likely won't be released now till Tuesday, so the Dev team will have the following days to update the patches may be needed, as this is such a large update.

I agree to an extent. The assumption being that there will be fewer bugs after this patch, of which there are, given the changelogs reducing in size as each progresses. The caveat is that in the beta testing there are far fewer players to actually hash out the vastness of capabilities in this update (graphically, playability, functionality, etc.). Hence, there will more than likely be several patches after it goes live. The only way to find those remaining glitches and bugs is to open that can of worms and let ppl play as they normally will.
That's my opinion of course....

That shouldn't be the case - you can select a nav target in the system map, but it will still jump to the primary star.

- Players without at least a rank 2 in any of the elite ranks are not allowed to pledge

Sorry for my lack of comprehension but what does "are not allowed to pledge" mean?

- Modules sell for the full price paid for them

So I won't have to sellall my equipment before update takes place in order not to lose at least this 10%?
Great!!!

Thanks DEVs

It means if you are not the second rank e.g mostly harmless, you cannot pledge yourself to a Power.

Given the choice between playing a broken game today or a solid game 2 weeks from now, I know the option I would pick.

- Reduce chance of pirates/bounty hunters interdicting the player in anarchy systems when the player is low ranked

No. No. No. No. No. If a low ranked player is stupid enough to go into an anarchy they should expect to be so many atoms floating in the void. Surely attack chance scaling should be based on ship type and potential cargo rather than just player ranking? (i.e. tend to leave a Viper or Vulture alone, leave a wing alone, but go for a lone hauler, T6, T7 or T9).

what? Now it's getting ridiculous (again)

What's the lore behind this?

Low ranked players are less likely to have high value cargo/bounties on their head. Why go for a wanted harmless when you can go for the wanted dangerous? The dangerous fellow is much more likely to have a bigger bounty. Besides, they said reduce, not eliminate.

And the serverside changes:
...
- Fix for rearming repair modules

Still not possible to rearm AFM module. Doesn't show up in the munitions panel, not refilled by "reload all" either from the munitions panel or from the services home. Does there need to be a client-side fix to complement the server-side one here or did this fix just not work?

ye, but still...
very artificial...

Why 2 weeks from now? Why ever release anything until it is completely done? Perfection isnt going to happen, and it's disingenuous to make statements that vaguely insinuate as such. The game is minimally functioning in several places as it is in 1.2. Besides, even if they hose all the bugs out in beta does not mean that there won't be any bugs when it goes live. I won't be surprised if there are still persistent issues when it does go live, so this constant diatribe of taking longer and longer to test out bugs only fulfills to fix what is found in a static, sterile environment. Only the devs know when the time is right to release. And it sounds like they are close, especially since releasing the Galnet news feed.

HAHAHAHA. Exactly what I was planning. "meh, do I really NEED the 30mw from an A7 power plant or should I just toss the C8 in and keep 40+ million"

I'm personally ecstatic about this, and it deserves my not whining about anything for a while. I'm sure edshipyard & coriolis are sick of me making virtual diamondbacks & couriers but it looks as though I'll be drooling a few more days. Lol.
