Are you serious?

Pirates are not going for easy targets in Anarchy systems?

Low rank == probably low value cargo
Low rank == probably low value bounty
 
Low ranked players are less likely to have high value cargo/bounties on their head. Why go for a wanted harmless when you can go for the wanted dangerous? The dangerous fellow is much more likely to have a bigger bounty. Besides, they said reduce, not eliminate.

so as a low rank you can hide in anarchy systems with million of bounty on your head? how stupid is that?
 
Given the choice between playing a broken game today or a solid game 2 weeks from now, I know the option I would pick.

I'm choosing both.
Seeing as I've just taken an unarmed unshielded sidewinder to Jameson Memorial, after leaving my ship at home base, I'll be playing beta until PP drops.
 
quick question (a little off topic, apologies):

Will non-Powerplay progress (eg combat rank progression/cash etc...) achieved within beta be reset back to previous 1.2 levels when 1.3 comes out or is it just PP stuff that will be reset?
 
So I am wondering... On missions that require a minimum Explorer rank... Does completion of those missions go towards advancement of the Exploration Ranking? Since they are directly correlated to the area of expertise, I think it would only be appropriate.

What happens in beta stays in beta. Nothing from beta affects your live server game. Whem 1.3 goes live it will be as the beta never existed and will continue from where you were on live server
 
Thats just the Level: "Not afraid of landings anymore"... not a big task!

What I recently found (of course because I didn't read something properly) You can jump to specific stars in an system in this built.

Anyone else mentioned that?

Haven't seen that..would be surprised...didn't think to check.


What you can do though is pick a station before you jump and it will be targeted when you land at the nav point and you can point your ship right to it.

Just checked...there is a routing choice, but like the stations, when you arrive it just chooses the location for you ...you still need to fly there.

This is still a really nice quality-of-life improvement. You can plan your whole trip right down to the docking station and then never touch the navicomp, not even on arrival. Saves that precious few seconds when you drop out of witchspace and are all "Okay, now where am I going?" Convenient, but also really handy if the system's hot and you need to not be idling about messing in the map or navlist and giving potential interdictors an easier time.
 
Yep, this is what a lot of people seem to miss. Sure, combat in the previous games could be a lot "harder" (not better), but I also remember basically saving everytime I took out a ship in Frontier. :D

I remember pausing a lot and looking around in external view too. Or even more cheaty with turrets aiming at the ship whilst paused then unpausing to watch it explode!

Anything you've done in Beta will be lost when 1.3 is released.

Means you need to be mostly harmless, mostly penniless or mostly aimless to sign up to a power

This refers to your pilots federation ranking. By default you are Harmless, Penniless, and Aimless when you start the game. You can't pledge to a power until you've played enough to gain at least one rank up in any of the three trees. Basically you start at level 1, and need level 2 to access the feature. This is intended to keep new players from accidentally joining a power before they are even familiar enough with the game to navigate.
 
There are still many bug reports getting submitted.
They need to release it at some stage but I doubt it will be ready for next Tuesday.

They should do an interim update and release the 3 ships for everyone else while they wait for 1.3

Well i hope they release it soon. They never will get out all bugs anyway so i dont mind that.

The pledge to a Power, you need to be at least one rank up in either Combat, Trading or Exploring, and not a complete and utter rookie straight out of pilot academy.
