Ship integrity in 1.3

You all may have not considered this, but hull integrity is the signs of age on your ship. How about instead of repairing it whenever it can be repaired, let it build up and pay for it all at once. That'll not only be more realistic, but increase your immersion. Ships get old, and digging into the frame of a ship to shine it up isn't cheap.

The lower your hull integrity, the lower your base hull strength. If you have 0% hull integrity and 100% hull, you only have 70% of the hull strength of a ship with 100% integrity and 100% hull.

No, it is not realistic, because if the price of 1% repair of the hull integrity is 0.5% of the price of the new ship, it is better to fly to the sun as soon as the hull integrity drops to 90%. Somehow, I am missing the "immersion" in it. :(

I never knew there was a hull integrity degredation. ok its just another part of the game, I can deal with that.
What does annoy me is that this repair should be part of the 'repair all' button on the main station screen. If I click repair all, I expect all damage regardless of what type to be repaired.
So I just went and checked my T9 integrity, wow... just wow.
91% integrity 3.34 mil repair bill...
sure I could make that up in a few hours, but then what extra damage will be done during that time?

I have no idea what wear is on T9, but for Asp, the hull integrity goes 1% lower after 4-6 jumps (depends on the jump length) - approx. 100-120 Ly, maybe sligthly dependent on the amount of cargo (total ship mass).

Ship integrity isn't something I've really bothered with much, not really sure what the downside to not paying it is, but I just logged in, parked my Orca.
Its on 93%.
They want 1.7 million to fix it.
Where is the Power who is offering Ship Integrity Discounts?

As usual they did something to make the game worse (more than) this to make it better. Unbelievable. ... But WHY do they find the need to fix things that weren't broken? Everything was fine with outfitting and repairs and fuel... Why didn't they just add the powers and fix the things that needed fixing like combat loggers and empty instances. It was enough of a grind before and the fact I'm worth 300 million with my Anaconda and still have to double that to fully upgrade it shows that it needn't take any longer. Idiots.

I am sure someone was whining integrity and fuel cost were too low, players from back in the day when they had to play in the snow with both hands tied behind their backs.

Well, you suppose that you will receive ship with 100% hull integrity after you crash and pay insurance. I did not tested this. Maybe you will pay insurance and you will have your 20% damaged hull back...
Good Point Commander!
Now wouldn't that be an interesting experiment... oh the pain!

I think there are a lot of hidden changes in PP that need to be checked out. Hopefully there are stations offering fair enough discount on repairs to make it survivable, and I also hear you can buff up yield on trade quite a lot if you pay attention. So maybe (hopefully) credit flow will even out, only we have to keep more track of things than we used to.

I'll keep playing for now but if this is a perment change, im sorry but im out. i just checked my clippers hull and its 84% at 1.8mil to fix, that insane, i want to be a miner,, i cant make that much mining. to be honest i was planning on playing all night but after i saw this im not sure i want to,, whats the point ill just loose money, and to top it off if i dont play ill start to loose my rep with the empire thanks to that new change. if the goal was to drive off all but the hardcore then good job i guess.

You can't make enough to pay for integrity repairs doing 'anything' in this game except trading. You could hunt a big ship RES all day and end up making maybe 5 percent of what you did before the patch or worse if your shields drop you could owe money even if you made 5 million in a couple hours.

Trading will be OK, I suppose. Especially short trade grinding in the style "resonant separators from Y to X and gold back from X to Y"). Rare trading is death (repair costs more than the profit) and exploring is now just a really expensive hobby for rich 1% of players.
Also, I can imagine that using cannons, multi-cannons, railguns etc. (basically everything with ammo and necessary jumping to stations for reload) will costs more than BH profit. Especially with the new AI of the NPCs.

For combat pilots, hull integrity only affects you if you often hull tank as part of your combat strategy... which is unlikely with shield meta being what it is.

For everyone else of which combat is not their main profession, just ignore this stat. It's just a money sink that only the OCD would spend money on.

Pre-1.2 I never repaired this stat on the big ships and nothing bad happens.

If they are as high as they are being reported now, this actually seems like a cost effective idea. Much cheaper to pay insurance than to repair the ship .. oh my.

FD will just increase the insurance to ten times the cost of a ship new.

They basically used the 10% restock issue to distract us from these other changes to the cost of daily game play. Shady way to treat your paying customers Frontier.

This has to be a bug on the basis alone that it is cheaper to self destruct than to repair the ship.

No way that would be intended if this was intentional.
