Coriolis.io - A new ship builder and comparison tool

So I finally got this working on my PC tonight and started work on making this more responsive so it works well on phones :). I submitted a pull request for the main heading and I'll submit another one this week sometime for making the outfitting screen responsive (on Github I'm Maverick, because at my work we all have callsigns from Top Gun :)).

Do you think this will make Coriolis work in portrait mode on an iPhone 6 Plus?

This will be a minor improvement, but more needs to be done to make it much better. It 'works' in landscape mode although the text is too small, etc. You have to do a lot of pinching/zooming.

A responsive mobile version will be released soon which will minimize the need for zooming/panning/etc.

That's great. I was hoping that it could be made to work properly in portrait mode though, not only landscape, as that is the default way to work with a mobile phone.

When I'm done, absolutely. Should things go smoothly it should work on the vast majority of smart phones. Right now I've only submitted a tiny change to the top menu :). I'm working on more though, so stay tuned.

I've now done some work on the outfitting screen so it'll work in portrait mode on phones. Should be good from the original iPhone on up. Not sure if the font-size is too small, but step one is done at least :).

Let me know when all these changes are implemented in the live version. I have several iPhones with different resolutions that I can test it with.

Since I didn't see anyone else commenting on it:
All of the new drone/limpet controllers are still missing from the equipment selection.

Edit:
I found something else:
Your dropdown list for builds runs into its maximum size too fast.

See how the drop down list does not include a Viper build.

If I open a comparison, it is listed though.

Thanks, Coldfish :).

cmmcleod mentioned the 1.3 stuff on Github:
Yeah, the following has not been added but will be in the next release:
Internal Fuel Tanks
Collector Limpet Controllers
Prospector Limpet Controllers
Fuel Transfer Limpet Controllers

I'll raise the issue with builds not showing up in your list, although that might actually be fixed already (as in will be in the next build) as my local build has 45 builds and they all show up in the list.

If your build list exceeds the maximum size, it starts scrolling.

Coldfish: Is the menu not scrollable?

Love it. Much more user-friendly than ED: Shipyard. Looking forward to the update to bring it in line with the latest 1.3 patch. Thanks very much! :D

cmmcleod: On the iPhone the webapp is not supporting multitasking. When we add it to the home screen it gets its own icon and splash screen on startup that's awesome but if we leave the app once we return to it it always goes back to the main screen with the ships and not where we left off. It restarts the app every time even if we left it only for a second. I read that there are ways to implement multitasking in webapps on iOS, like there is some already made code that you can just add into your bundle. Is this true and if so could you please implement it? Thank you very much.

Thanks for that great app, cmmcleod. Really useful and beautifully done! Wish I could give you more than 1 rep.

I have a feature request, if you don't mind:

It'd be great to be able to disable modules to see the difference on power usage. For example in my Vulture I give low priority to the fuel scoop, the FSD and the cargo hatch, so I don't run out of juice when I deploy my hardpoints. When designing a loadout in advance from your app, it'd be very handy to be able to do the same (just a checkbox added to each module to disable it would be enough, though, no priority needed, here).

Thanks again anyway!

Nope, its not. No idicator that it is supposed to be scrollable either.
Using Firefox ver.38.0.5 on Win7 if that helps.

Could you provide the permalink for all of your builds such that I can try to replicate?

Comparison -> Compare All -> Permalink

I will import all of your builds and test in firefox. Thanks!

You can disable a module by clicking on it in the power list. A new feature is under development for priority management too :)

Yes, will do!

Sure, there you go:

If the shortened version should not be enough for whatever reason, here's the long one as well:
Edit: By the way, I tried using IE to make sure it's not FF messing up. Found the same problem, list is not scrolling. It also gets clipped weirdly:

This is already a feature. Just click on the module and it gets "greyed out" while the power draw is updated below for the modules you turn off. It may not be immediately apparent that you can click the moduels esp. if you come from using ED Shipyard where each module has an obvious checkbox.
