Hello,
I was contacted by CMDR Rusticolus (AKA: mjmw) about this service, with the suggestion of promoting it on Radio Sidewinder.
This is a great idea with much potential for some gripping stories to be retold at the Pilots Lounge over a few pints.

However, a minor inconvenience arises with being able to direct people to the service. Since it's hosted here, and on Reddit.
Both of which are troublesome to read out on the radio. I'll be following this with some interest and try to work a story for Radio Sidewinder News.

Rats are coming up in the world.
You could simply say at the end of the spot to "contact the organization through the galactic network" or what have you, it depends on how you do the spot, either as an ad or a public interest piece.
Maybe Badger should do an interview? That should be a riot.

The RSW team have come up with a solution to the Site Address: http://tiny.cc/fuelrats
I'll prepare a "Fill In The Blanks" news story based around the first successful rescue (Details needed: Names, Locations, Fee Collected, anything else that would make for compelling story telling)
Hopefully it'll be ready to go to Post-Production and Editing teams pretty quickly after the event. Try and work an Advert for the Rats too.

Good solution, how long before production?

I ask because I have registered fuelrats.org and will redirect it to this thread until we come up with something more suitable. Anyone know if this is OK with regards to forum rules?

That's not a problem, but you might need to consider that if your thread ends up in another forum - Community Creations or Roleplay for instance - the link might need to be updated.

<edit> actually the link is directly to the thread, so the forum it's in doesn't matter.

In that case http://fuelrats.org should be up over the next 24 hrs or so as the magic that runs the interwebs updates itself.

Recorded a Quick News Clip, and sent it off for Editing and Post-Production.
Hopefully it'll be part the Radio Sidewinder News Rotation in about 24hrs.

"A group calling themselves the Fuel Rats have set up shop, so to speak, across the galaxy.
They are offering a refueling service to any Commanders who have found themselves stranded and unable to make their next jump.
This service will provide the hapless explorer with enough fuel to jump to the next scoopable system.
The Fuel Rats can be contacted by directing your GalNet Browser to fuelrats.org"

I've got a script ready to go, just need some details, to run off when the first successful rescue is carried out.
Then you'll all make the news for a second time.

I can see it now ... details are hazy but it seems that earlier today a young pilot was killed in a multi-ship pile-up when at least a dozen members of the Fuel Rats volunteer refueling service, bored after weeks of waiting for their first call for help, all rushed to the commanders aid at the same time. One of the rats was quoted as saying "there was a lot of confusion, the sky was full of fuel drones and the next thing I know there was the sickening pop pop boom of a starship explosion followed by a very awkward silence".

Having a spot on Radio Sidewinder will be awesome and also being posted on Galnet will be doubly awesome.

wouldn't it be cool to have an animation add outside starports on the holovids.

Noticed the "Keeping Score" bit. Are we going to keep a detailed log of our attempts? Would love tor ead about the attempts, successful or no.

Guys do you all think we have kicked the a**e out of this "lets make rules" thing now and have settled on what and how things are going to happen.

what we all need to do now is cool down on the posts to this and just listen out for the calls to come in.

what we also need to do is start spamming other areas to get the word out that we are here and willing.
