Unfortunately these forums are a double edged sword. People post here to brag & share their wealth creation discoveries. Trouble is the Devs can read too lol
I am glad people shared. I think if they didn't a handful of people would have made giant space buckets of cash for a couple of days more, as it was hundreds of CMDRs got to enjoy the benefits for a shorter time - I like the latter.
So thanks to all those who shared this - please keep it up.
here is my question i cant seem to stop getting scanned. ive done it before with no problem and i have been doing nothing different. so whats going on?
and i do have an anaconda while im doing this, im not sure if the guards can actually see a flying football field....
what am i suppose to do to avoid this? or is this uncontrollable no matter what i do?
It helps if you are allied with the station to which you are smuggling - they scan you much less frequently. If you are a good pilot you can just boost up to the station and get through the letterbox before you get scanned. My approach is as follows (along with technical d...
Throttle at Max
Boost so that you are heading towards a point about 6km away from the station which is directly in front of the letterbox
While heading to that point look at your left hand screen bring up the request docking - keep an eue on distance to station, hit request docking as soon as you are within 7.5km.
Boost again - keep peeking at the station with head look or a quick turn to see where you are in relation to the letterbox
Just before you are right in-front of the letterbox turn quickly to point directly at it and boost.
Immediately drop landing gear keep throttle at max.
Depending on the manoeuvrability of your ship drop to the blue throttle zone as you approach the letterbox (in my anaconda with D rated thrusters it is about 2.5km from the station).
This should get you in with no problems. In an Anaconda you have to have a 4A shield with at least 4xA rated boosters until you get the hang of this, as the risk of going splat, whilst small, is not negligible. I don't consider myself a great pilot and the above set up has been enough to mitigate the occasional mishap, but never have I hit the station, only ever the railings.
