I've spent 8 hours progressing ranks with Federation before choosing powers because after that I went to Empire space (and I would be hostile in the system where I was ranking up). Federation progress was done without any bugs. I've also completed 2 naval ascension contracts for Empire. At some point my rank with Empire has changed from Marquis to Prince.

Reset of the ranks will mean the whole gameplay day is lost, I've lost 6 fairly achieved ranks. If I go back to the system where I rank up I will be hostile because I have joined the power after ranking up. My friends were trading in the meantime and earned 100-200M Cr. So this also penalizes me as I've missed this opportunity. And as I was performing the ranking missions on my Python I have taken it to the storage station, which is not hostile, and I had to make 17 jumps to get there, which took quite some time (20-30 minutes). And I'll need to go to that station now, get my Python, make 17 jumps, be hostile, and do everything from scratch. And then I will have to return my Python back.

So this would mean that I am penalized for playing the game according to the plan that I had made for PP release.

Tip #1 - when you fix a bug give some thought to the consequences, for different sorts of players (e.g explorers) and not just your own and/or some typical player, to avoid having to fix it again later

Tip #2 - when writing release notes give some thought to clarity and wording to avoid having to respond to further questions and/or outrage later

Tip #3 - when answering questions like the above, one word answers might seem like a good way to save time, but they're really not

11 minutes of fruitless connecton attempts ...server adress yadda yadda alternating between name unknown and ed server #47.: Unconnected. etc etc. finally i get in and my first jump ends up in hyperspace nirvana forever... Client completely unresponsive ..., have to kill the process with task manager. Great netcode again.

I probably got in by a fluke... server probably came up just as I logged in and then they brought it down again. I'll probably disconnect on next connection to the matchmaking server.

You probably need to do a complete uninstall/reinstall.

sorry about panicing,, after reading the first notes i was worried,, but gave time to read through all the posts from the community,, at least felt wasnt alone with our concerns.

i would hope that explore data wouldnt be lost due to their was no death, just need returning to nearby sectors to where we were.. that is if we've been moved.. no idea though,, cant connect

In my book the only ones from these two with any reason to be complaining are the explorers possibly being reset back to a station. The ones complaining bcs they got somewhere way faster than they should have havent got a leg to stand on, or in some cases lost their thrones lol.

I did wonder how one commander here managed to report 15 combined rank-ups across Fed & Emp in the 3.5 days since 1.3 went live. I haven't seen any Fed rank progression offered, and I'm still sitting on Lt Commander. Although the repeated "Mission Unavailable : Travel Permit" for permits I already possessed have now disappeared, which seems like a good thing.
