Zemina Torval supporters thread.

I know I can't be the only one who pledged Zemina. I mean, trade profit bonus, and you can work on your empire rank while you're at it because you'll be doing a lot of operating in empire space. What's not to like?

So anyway, thought we should have a thread since a couple other powers seem to have threads for their backers.

Discuss whatever related to our Power's faction. Discuss what we should be working on, what problems you've run into, etc.

My issue right now is that the "carry 10 of x" every 30 minutes missions aren't netting me merits as fast as I'd like. But I've not been able to find a place where I could get merits for kills. In Denton Patreus and Aisling Duval's systems at least, the undermining actions involve stealing cargo, which is involved and you need an expensive ship to have enough slots for a shield generator, interdictor, hatch limpet controller, AND cargo retrieval limpet controller, and still have cargo space to carry the stuff you steal.

If I hit the systems of someone combat oriented, or just a non-empire power (Which would be good just because hitting ships in Empire systems is NOT helping me grind reputation to get that damn Courier I want...) can I find undermine actions that just involve killing the targets, or does Zemina only want us stealing things?

Hey! I backed Torval too!

I think a lot of the Torval backers are being quiet at the moment, being a slave-trader doesn't exactly make you a lot of friends, but if you look at the fortification and expansion scores you'll note that the money you get isn't exactly unpopular. :D

Not quite - but as it runs well so far, never felt the urge to discuss something that isn't there. And on a sidenote, if the other factions feel the need to trumpet their plans to the public, fine. I don't intend to do the same. Regardig Merits @OP: Guess i can't help much, i make my profits with the boons Zemina provides, and at the end of each day i reinvest 10-20% of my profits into trade deals and / or prisoners to support her.

I backed her too for the excellent trading bonus stuff, but I'm thinking of defecting simply because I'll never reach rating 5 and I'm not sure how I feel about her mining laser weapon. I wish she had some kind of super silent running module or something so I could do some more covert ops. I rarely mine. May switch it up to Patreus.

See, that'd work great... If I even had the 100 merits necessary to start getting trade bonuses. As it stands, I got fed up with the 10 merits every thirty minutes thing (And I'm not a rich player, I'm struggling to outfit my Asp, not one of those guys with a Type 9 and a billion credits who can afford to just blow 1m credits to get 100 merits...) and wanted to find a faster way to pull them in.

Then i would suggest to do that. If you want to squeeze out the best possible result check for systems where you can trade forth and back and get / turn in the 10 merits every 30 mins meanwhile. That way you should be able to get your Merits. Remember, after this week you will only need half as you carry 50% of your earned merits into the next week. So if you aim for Rank 2 and leave it at 100 Merits, you will need only 50 next week to keep your pace - as long as you continue to do so each weak that is.

Can't hear you over the humming of what my prismatic shield generator will sound like.

Yeah - pledged with Torval after I thought FD removed the module bias for good after it wasn't displayed anymore.

Was a tad disappointed they brought them back, but then again, I wouldn't have pledged if I hadn't known I can always defect.

I'll stick around to see which modules are actually worth it as we haven't seen their actual specifications, but since I'm here anyway, I may just stick around to fit an Adder with mining lances as the ultimate ED clown car.

You can defect. If you defected to Torval though, there is a cooldown before you can defect again. You can of course, just leave anytime.
Ok, you edited while I was typing. Now I'm confused. :D

I'm pledged to Torval as well, but I'm confused how to work the three different power commodities. Which systems offer deeds, trade agreements and political prisoners, and which systems are they supposed to be taken to? I have this nebulous idea that they can be picked up and dropped off as part of a loop, but I've not been able to intuit it...

A mining laser? I ask! The other factions get shields, or missile racks, or cannons. Poor Torval gets a mining laser. That is such a niche item it's practically not worth having for most people.

Sabotaged by FDev.

She could have done with something a little more interesting. Maybe a utility that dissipates heat faster without needing heat sinks (useful for silent running or scooping if you want to avoid stations). Or perhaps a utility that prevents scans from penetrating the cargo bay (useful if you're moving slaves around). Even a cockpit bobblehead would probably get more love than a mining laser.

Or a mining laser with double yield or something, since Torval seems to be the power for profit and trade oriented players with an imperial bent.

Personally, I suspect people are putting way way too much emphasis on these "special weapons", but time will tell.

I would be more excited about power specific decals :)

Btw, fuzzy did you pledge?

To be honest, i am quite gratefull that Torval only gets a Mining Laser. Keeps people out that only contribute because of the shiny without thinking where said points are best spent to benefit the faction. Doesn't help against all odds, but at least against some.

I would have preferred to see a mining laser with higher yields, what use is a weak short range fixed laser when you are mining in a big lumbering mining ship?
