If we lost more fortification systems to undermining, our CC for this cycle would be smaller than predicted.
Did the whole cycle flip over, or did we just get a vote?

This seems strange... let's have a close eye on it and prepare old screenshots, so we can file a bug report. I hope it's not a "It is correct according to the backround calculation, you just don't see it" thing.
I certainly hope the UI recognises the fortification/undermining states. Otherwise this would be another big joke.

I feel like I choose the right power....you guys are awesome...love the detail in the suggested systems.
I kind of feel like we are being watched by the other powers though....wish they would get the power forums up and running.
Good list, we should consider adding Carverda and Lutni, since they obiously got bootet for whatever reason.
I think this highlights the importance of being organised. Carverda and Lutni should have been at the top to make sure we could expand to the most profitable systems. Lakluita is ok (not as good as Carverda or Lutni though), but the other three shouldn't have been in the top five.

If beta is anything to judge by, it is important to get the desired systems quickly into the top ten so players who do not see the forums can just pick them out from the top 10 list

Things of Note, before this thread bites the dust.
Patreus somehow got to expand into Vaka. I didn't see the last minute maths on his other systems, but that really doesn't make sense.
Whatever, that is the situation.
If EDC wants to control Vaka and the support of Fergal and myself (and possibly Lavigny's Legion from reddit, though don't quote me on that), y'all will have to spearhead undermining his expansion starting now. You will have to totally overwhelm his expansion, which means interdicting his supply ships and stealing Field Supplies, not ship destruction. While you are at it, if you can, prepare Udihikoja if the game allows you. Preparing Udihikoja is utterly pointless if we cannot totally undermine his expansion. If it looks good, some of us may help out on preparation after we fortify and figure out the rest of the strategy. Good Luck.
The rest of us, fortify, fortify, fortify, but do not go over 100%. If you prefer the Crime Sweeps, get started as soon as you can, because we've got 4 systems to expand into, and two of them are on the end of Torval space. In the Crime Sweeps, do go over 100%, but try not to be too wasteful. Huzzah!

Don't get caught up in yet another Empire internal conflict.
I think that Avrils power could not afford vaka as it was too far down the list. So it went to the power that held the next most votes. Either that or they pumped serious merits into it just before week expired.
So much for the 100's of millions that The Elite group pumped into it..Its lost to them for good now. All they can do (at a lot more expense) is to stop it expanding or to undermine it if it does expand. But it is lost as a bounty hunting paradise for them. As denton is not combat focused. If the people that really want it as home are serious they can defect to Denton... Congratz to the members of Avrils power that stopped a stupid selfish action by a small group of players who were not working in your powers best interest.

It was 6th on Patreus's list!
Here is the thing that could have happened: We had the most data, we couldn't afford to expand there, because the 'projected earnings' includes the supposition that all of our fortifications are successful and not nullified. I believe we had 4 fortifications nullified. So we didn't get the option.
He had four other choices in front of it, he was beaten out on all of those preparations, and they were his best. I don't remember the systems, so I don't know who beat him. He got to expand in Vaka because nobody else could.
That said, it is still not 'lost' now. Expansion is not a foregone conclusion. Honestly, if we were tactical thinkers, we would let it abide and save that battle for later.
If we were stubborn and could command, cajole, or inspire people to our cause, one could coordinate undermining of Patreus's expansion. For Imperials, that is stealing cargo, and necessarily earning a bounty on your head in Vaka. For any Alliance, Indies, or Feds who happen to be in that system for some random group that everyone likes... They get to earn 15 merits towards undermining by destroying Imperial Supply ships. That is a horrible thing to do and you will get the higher bounty for doing it. No Imperial should relish the thought of lonely space truckers getting blown up for carrying supplies for a megalomaniacal senator.
I cannot support this course of action.
It is Senator Patreus's responsibility to expand into Vaka while keeping its people and traders safe. What anyone else there, be they EDC or not, is up to them.
