A Lavigny-Duval Supporters, Stop Prepping Peraesii and Guathiti

Peraesii is worth -14 CC and is right on our border. It has no strategic value and loses us CC.
Its actually hard to believe anyone would legitimately want this system, other than someone trying to undermine our systems.
If you actually have a reason for taking this system, that is in the interests of ALD, please share.

Guathiti is worth only 14 CC. Its off with Kamocan, so I assume the group that prepped that last cycle is responsible.
If so, there must be a better target over there than this. It will take 7 weeks to recoup that amount of CC.

*edit, and stop prepping Hip 18714, its right next to Carverda which is number 1 on our list.
We want to take systems that are more than 15 LY apart or else they will decrease the amount of money they collect from their exploited systems.
We will not get 115 CC for Hip 18714 like it says.

But its not good really, does great damage closing our expansion upwards..

Torval only has up and down. We have much more space in which to expand into. And yet we're expanding stupidly. Gui Xian? Really? Sure, it's worth 77cc potentially, but ~7Ly away is HIP 23157 provides 88cc *and* includes everything Gui Xian does.

I'm not even going to mention the two absurd negative ones there. They appear to be 'solidfying' to prevent Torval or Patreus from getting them. Guess what? They won't go there, and they'll wind up with more Command Capital than us. And those places have over 2 thousand data packets already!

We haven't even finished Fortifying yet! It's like people are dumping preparation packets where ever just to level up their merits.

This is why merit ratings should be graded on a curve above Ranking 2. Now, everyone is going after 10,000 merits any way they can! It is absurd.

This is a symptom of people merely seeing it as a grind instead of the strategic layer it actually is. People don't care, they see it as a grind, so they grind.

Using ones head, and coordination is key, its like chess.

Fortify first, secure the borders. Next get that HIP 23157 system, I looked earlier and its a solid idea. What I do not yet understand is that it is not on the list. Can we in any way nomitate it and go for it?

I still have my nominations and I have still no idea what I these accomady things are or how to get them I'm usually just fighting in other systems but I'm all for supporting this joint endevour

I think people are talking about HIP 23157, meaning we have to get flyers in there so that it takes shape. Once we have done that at the end when its on the list, we can vote for it.

The important thing is getting it onto the list,
HIP 23157 that is

Anybody correct me if I got that backwards please. I did not do the beta, and still learning some minor pieces.

PM me if needed, I have no problem with PM and get me going into one system. I think we can stay together being in in Private, Solo or Open, it does not matter as long as we do move towards one objective.

Thanks Commanders and long life to the Emperor.

The sad thing is, there are better systems to force on there than HIP 23157. It is a good one, though. I spent today moving my ships around in a big 300Ly loop to my new home. On my way, I re-enforced the Ngarawe data push with 45 tonnes. I also took 45 tonnes to Maiku, which is only 69cc, but in a fairly crucial location to shore up the backside of our HQ. Also, it's really pretty.

HIP 22286 (102cc) is also back in the region. It is out of range of Maiku's 15Ly sphere.

There seems to be a big misunderstanding of what PP is.
PP is based around CC, command capital.
CC isn't money.

When we prepare a system, we are preparing a 15 light year bubble of systems. Not that exact one in the center.
The amount of CC is based on all the systems, not just the one. This is why its hard to see the CC value.

The system may be excellent for trading, or have an Indian burial ground on it, but 20 systems are worth more CC than one.

Peraesii and Guathiti are right next to our already dominated systems. They may be excellent systems, but we are not conquering systems, we are trying to exploit a bubble of systems.

Taking a system will stop other Powers from taking it, this is true, but systems cost more to maintain the further they are from the capital, so only other Imperial Powers can easily take systems on our border.

What if another Imperial Power takes Peraesii and Guathiti?
What will this do to us?
We can't be attacked for free in other Imperial systems, and we can still attack agents of the Independent, Alliance and Federation powers for free (no bounty on our head)

We can land at all the stations, and buy all the commodities, get missions from the Bulletin Boards.
There isn't really a downside if an Imperial power wants Peraesii or Guathiti, in fact if Patreus takes it we will get cheaper weapons in there. We get all the bonuses that everyone else gets.

How do we "lose" at PP?
The only way for use to lose territory is to go bankrupt in CC (not credits, credits have nothing to do with PP)
If we aren't bankrupt we can keep our territory and keep expanding.

Every cycle all our systems give us CC, and they all cost a certain amount to maintain.
If this number is positive we are fine, if its negative we are in trouble.

Right now our faction has 1038 CC.
This allows us to expand to about 7 more systems.

There needs to be an excellent reason to expand to a negative CC system, in fact you can't even select these systems in the expansion view. Thats how worthless they are, try putting your cursor over them. The games interface tries to stop you.

Honestly, we don't know until we find out what happens when exploitable systems are Contested. I searched the map for some that already exist, but I couldn't find any. I didn't figure out what happened during beta, either. I agree with you that it is likely to be nothing important, but it possibly could shift the balance of CC resources in the region.

What amazes me, is that if you look at any system in the Expansion view, you will see the bubble of influence! FD forces you to visualise it! And we've still got overlapping bubbles within the same Power!

We're not telling people what to do. We're offering suggestions of better systems to prepare so that the power as a whole prospers. Whether or not they follow those suggestions is up to them. If there was zero communication and we just let people do whatever they want, I doubt Arissa would stay in the top 5 for very long.

+1,

To me it is the opposite.

Seeing this cooperation in these threads is fun to me, and finally convinced me to also go with Lavigny-Duval after a brief flirt with the blue haired space princess.

From today onward, I will be helping the cause as best I can :)

Cheers.

I have a ship in Torval territory (beta-1 Tucana). I guess I can safely leave it there and pick it up at a later date?

We are not hostile in Imperial Space. If you commit a crime in any system, you will still be tagged as Wanted. The ship will be fine. If it is your fighting ship, you might want to relocate it to have it nearby. Hell, if it is your trading ship, you might want to relocate it near to HQ to help with Fortification.

It is a Fer-de-lance I bought a bit prematurely without being able to outfit properly, and I am reluctant to take the 10 percent hit and sell it before even having tried it out. So instead I got an a rated Diamondback scout which I have been having tons of fun with.

Just wanted to know I will still be able to pick it up when I can afford the upgrades, or alternatively go there and sell it to buy a clipper instead for powerplay.

On edit:

Any of you members of Lavigny's legion?

Is that a good idea to get involved with?

Imperial space is still Imperial space and we all still bask together. So yes, of course you can still go over there and get your ship anytime you want.
