Patch Notes Update Powerplay Update 1.3.04 Incoming

We have a proper fix for this and a related issue with overlapping conflict zones being tested for another update hopefully later this week. However that will be too late to affect this week's cycle so in this instance we'll set the expansion to succeed.

Michael

I just arrived at Whitelaw station in Sokn, having recognised that currently Opposition is higher than Expansion and spotting an opportunity to cause serious problems for another Power... only to discover that this bug means there are no Violent Protests and thus neither I, undermining, nor the Utopians can do anything here.

Not gonna lie, I'm disappointed that I came all the way here (several jumps, plus station is 86K plus out from jump point), only to discover that due to this bug this system is going to be handed to Utopia as a walkover - especially since Opposition was higher than Expansion.

However, I think we're all grateful that something is in the works to prevent this happening again; so that in future all of us can actually do something to affect these outcomes, because right now every single faction who wants to do something either way here currently cannot.

What will be done with all the players that now run around with anacondas AT BETA test prices and BETA Rebuy prices , im pretty sure a lot of players hopped on that.

Thank you Michael and Team!
Really looking forward to playing again this evening.
I'll say it again "You guys are the greatest"

Don't worry about it, it doesn't matter now, the results are so skewed compared to what they should have been so far anyway due to the sheer amount of bugs that were first present, most of which are still present, along with all the new ones that every "Band-Aid" style fix you have applied in the past weeks have created.
Might be easier and less buggy for you guys if you just incorporated this into the background "simulation" and changed everything by hand during server downtime. Or just make all the results random, the law of averages states it would probably end up closer to what it should be than the current broken system.

No mention in 1.3.04 update about the neverending bug of broken naval progression mission...
Please, it has been a long time since you're talking to fix this issue, and never resolved in the latest patches: try to give it priority at least for the next update.
The naval progression mission is broken from ages, in different ways, depending on accounts: some have no problem, others completed lot of ranking mission without promotion, others (like me) can't see any rank progression mission, despite of the huge amount of time and mission for subfaction achieved

Hi Adam,

no I won't ask "Did you fix protesters in Skon?"
I always find it a bit funny, when people asking about stuff that is not listed in the change log. The logic is really simple: when it is not mentioned, it is not fixed. The bug migth get busted in a later patch, but for now it persists. This is okay, it is all understandable and I am patient.
(Edit: as additional fixes were added in the time this thread unfolds, I might be wrong and asking for missing fixes might not be as unreasonable as I thought...)

The "Skon issue", however, is time critical. The cycle will only last for two days and this bug will effectively prevent a successful take-over.
So, instead of asking "Is it fixed?", I want to ask:
"Did you already decide, how to handle the game effects of this bug?" Will Skon be counted as accomplished expansion (manually injected by FD) or will Antal lose this cycle's only expansion target?

By the way: I am especially grateful for this:

Thank you, FD! :)

It is good to know that we can stop pulling our hair our on our only expansion and that our NPCs will do the job (with a little frontier help). A few of us were scared that Antal was being offered up as the sacrificial lamb.

I've been opposing that expansion all week!

The expansion percentages seem to have come from background simulations,
without any player of the Anta-gonists being able to impact it.

Basically the system was defenselessly handed over to the opposition.
I'm glad that FD is looking into fixing these nagging errors.

Trust me, it would have looked like that if there had been any violent protests!

This is a Power rating benefit (only certain Powers have this benefit). My mistake, typed rank instead of rating. Apologies.

Thanks,
Adam

Sorry to ask, been playin for less than a week. May you elaborate this a bit more?

I'm not in a faction therefore I don't receive more money to kill higher npcs, which is, somehow, unfair.
At least, I suppose pirates as being more dangerous have higher bounties as reward, right?

Michael

could somebody please tell me what was the problem with founders outfitting prices?
cheers

Things where selling at beta prices so Anacondas for 3 mill , cheap outfitting and so on.. I still want to know whats gonna be done by everyone that got ships from there now . caus they will have rebuy costs for 300k and so on..

Any news on the fix for naval ranks lost with the rollout of 1.3?

From a ticket reply on the 9th:
"Hi Commander,
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
We will be implementing a patch server side that should restore your rank to the rank you have earned over the recent period of time.
There has been an issue relating to reputation gains recently and the loss you suffered was part of a recovery process. Essentially all players have been experiencing accelerated rank progression over a recent period of time.
However it has been decided that it’s unfair to remove the progress you have made, so we will be resetting the ranks gained shortly. This patch will be on our side, so you should not notice any interruption to service, you’ll just notice your rank has been increased to its previous level.
We’re very sorry for any inconvenience and we hope this explains what’s been happening to your ranks recently."

Fixed founders purchase prices? o: I never look at prices...What was wrong with them? Did they have too much or too little discount? (I buy all my stuff there)

ahh thanks. saw the thing about the anaconda prices but didn't put two and two together.
was that only available to founders? if so, not too many of us so should be easy to identify anyone who thought to take "advantage" ; )
