So, what are the exciting E3 announcements?

First of all...ED isn't going to "stay like this by then".

Secondly...how are they "lagging behind" two games that hasn't even been released yet?

NMS doesn't have a releasedate yet. When it eventually gets released I will certainly buy it, but you know what? I will still keep on playing ED because of all the things it will have that NMS won't have...

SC is still about two years away from official release if we are going to be realistic. ED will have lots of other free updates released by then AND probably 2-3 major expansions. Making any kind of comparison between the vision of what SC might be 2 years from now with what ED is currently is pretty pointless IMO.

Forums are usually about the clash between different opinions, yes. Just like we are having now...but what has this to do with the subject at hand? The reason I posted my graph was because you wrote:

I think the graph shows without doubt what the marketing guys where thinking and hoping for and that doing this announcement had a pretty big impact on sales for the game. AKA good marketing!

I can say that people seem to share my point of view too, but that is also beside the point... ;)

Can you share the secret "roadmap" with the rest of us? You seem to either have access to classified information or are talking out of your butt.

I'll assume you actually have facts and real, hard data to backup all your predictions, since I know you wouldn't pretend to know what's coming based on opinion alone.

It has nothing to do with the browser, it's purely a bad size choice for formatting.

May I present exhibit a, 1395 pixels wide and perfectly fine communitygood.PNG

and exhibit b, same browser, just 7 pixels narrower and all sorts of issues communitybad.PNG

What secret "roadmap"? What "classified information"?

The only prediction I made in the previous post was that the game will continue to get free updates going forward (something the devs have said several times is the case) and that ED probably will get at least one major expansion per year. Key word here is "probably"...but it feels perfectly reasonable to me especially since they expanded the team at the beginning of the year with that in mind so that they could keep on adding to the core game while at the same time working on expansions.

Some much needed reminders on what E3 is really about.
One fat commercial full of lies and puffed up promises.

FD should have used their time to let the gaming world know how they were going to make the mining profession more interesting instead of showing a very nice trailer for the spiritual successor of an extremely popular game.

I see.

My bad. I see now that you're just guessing like the rest of us as no one, including you, has any idea of what's to come.

Since E3 I have the baaaad feeling five years from now, Elite seamless procedural city planet landings and massive multiplayer FPS will show up in one of these videos :-//

yeah it is, on outdated OS and browser...

Nothing to do with an outdated browser or OS. The website is horribly designed to cater for 1920x1080 and above which is a really silly move on Frontiers part. Anybody with 1920x1080 or above need only to maximise their browser to see the website how it is supposed to look.

The website looks broken to everyone below that resolution regardless of browser or version and this needs fixing desperately.

I don't understand this silly politic of misterious things that must never be showed
show us something for God sake, what are your fears Frontier ?

show some concepts, some work in progress... who cares if not shiny or perfect, just something to raise up our hopes and cease the trolls flames !!

More free updates ARE coming.
Major paid expansions ARE coming.

These are not guesses.

Yes they are. What are they called? When will they be released? For what platform(s)? What "content" will they have? Etc.

Please provide details. Or are you just guessing based on what you've heard? Lot's of people could have talked out of their butt, like you are, and told people "facts" about what's coming a year ago, you included, but, we were all proved wrong.

Much like the "factual" graph you posted earlier, your predictions are no more factual or informed than other people's "predictions".

Because the "mystery" and "unknown" is the hook, not the game. Companies create hype where content doesn't exist.

The most exiting thing was that there was nothing !
Kaiserns neue Kleider
New clothes of the Emperor.
Soon , later, this year, 2016, ect.
Thats the essentials.
This game will be dead before then. not CQC. but the GAME will, as there is nothing "meaningful to do. This game is so shallow, that it is really incredible. in order to improve shallowness , FD ads PP grind, go figure
I'l prolly hang on a month more , and then be gone, maybe back when Rift is out , just to try, because flying in ED IS super cool. But GAME wise ....
For the first time ever I have trouble willing to play, I would rather read the news .
:(
imo

Cheers Cmdr's

I don't know what they are called or when they will be released, nor have I claimed too. So what kind of argument are you trying to push here?

Content? Well...presumably this since that is what FD have said:

From newsletter 29
We do intend to release small, free updates after launch, but expansions that include significant new features and content will be charged for separately. For example, our current roadmap is to add (in no particular order):

 • Landing/ driving / prospecting on airless rocky planets, moons & asteroids
 • Walking around interiors and combative boarding of other ships
 • Combat and other interactions with other players and AIs in the internal areas of star ports
 • Accessing richly detailed planetary surfaces
 • Availability of giant ‘executive control’ ships to players

Taken from newsletter 32:
Major new features will include planetary landings and even walking around inside ships, stations, and planet surfaces with time.

...

That means rich, varied experiences. Not just landing pads, but rich content on the surfaces, surface vehicles, the ability to stash things there, to explore. Clearly ‘doing it right’ like this will take time, but we have a plan and will get there via a series of meaningful releases.

...

We also plan to allow you to get up out of your seat and walk around your ship...Of course walking round your ship will be nice, but it is the just springboard for a very significant expansion of gameplay – you will be able to experience the inside of starports and interact with other players and AI characters, and even board other people’s ships in space and take them by force...Of course this will be further expanded to include walking around on the surfaces of planets too.

Also...less anger in your posts would be appreciated. :)

Again, you're just repeating what you've read or heard and stating it as fact. Until it happens, it's not a fact, it's a guess, hope perhaps at best, that it actually comes to pass.

Many, including you, have repeated what has been said and it turned out to be entirely wrong. I can post pages of quotes from both David and Michael that have proven to be false and that IS fact. So, before you keep presenting quotes from FD as fact you may want to see it actually happen before doing so. If the past (actual fact) is any indication, you're most likely wrong.

Anger? I didn't realize you could hear my tone of voice, see my expressions or are you just guessing again?

Also, a little less false information (your graph) and speculation presented as fact in your posts would be appreciated.

Sony E3 was... well, it was lacking to say the least.

Did you see The Last Guardian?

This is the team that made Ico and Shadow of the Colossus (anyone who has played those games will know exactly why this is a reason to be excited).

you have been here long enough right. and even though you are very familiar with the way FDEV are handling their "newsfeed" (in a way that seems/is alien to you) you are still saying i do not understand... but you understand that FDEV are not going to change their ways, or rather they are changing them slowly. they have come from oldworldy 3rd party dev right into the storm that is social media/internets. they are VERY cautious, there is no blue chip publisher contract to safeguard them anymore. people like DB are hedging their families livelihood on this. give them yet more time, more constructive feedback to get on with developing their games, their company and themselves.

try to respect that this is their gig and let them run the show how only they can. obviously there are companies better at advertising, PR or customer service or even game development but then i have yet to see any of them produce a game that right now can fulfill my dream of playing a modern day elite. as this is what this game and forum is about in case you forgot.

so i tend to shut up and put my money where my heart is and give positive/constructive feedback where i can.

ps: armchair wannabe owner of FDEV is not a real profession ^^

obviously FDEV have delivered manyfold as told compared to what they have chosen not to deliver. and so they will continue to deliver manyfold from what they have proposed since launch and before. they have done it 2 nights ago with the XBox One launch, another fact. they are doing it right now, preparing more bugfixes and more content, just that you definitely don't know what is planned for when - that is a fact ^^
