lets talk gear changes for the better

Well I think small ships are strong enough as is. With my 2mil. Eagle I was hunting down Pirate Condas and Pythons in RES and didn't die once (and i farmed that eagle with a stock Sidey since I didn't realize that you get 100% of the parts back at the time). I used it to farm 15mil for a Vulture without any issues whatsoever.

Changing thermal to no hull damage is pointless, both logically and gameplay wise. This way you will be shot dead without a single % of hull going down and not knowing what the hell happened. Also when the laser is penetrating modules it would first have passed the hull and therefor damaging it. Small holes and thermic stress is a MAJOR factor in disintegrating stability of structures. This is multiplied massively in space (only radiation, difference in pressure etc.).

I'm all for the 2000 ammo part, but doesn't a gimbal mount defeat the purpose of the railguns? If they are delayed firing already, then the sway is unreliable, you can miss your target at range. And I've always seen the railgun as more of a sniper than anything else. If you're up close and personal, and someone's dodging around like crazy, you'll be missing rails right and left. Now, this is not too big a deal with the recommended increase in magazines, but still pricey. Honestly, I'd like to see some size 3+ railguns.

I've pretty much used rails exclusively for the past 2 months. Gimbals would make them op. Any more than 100 ammo would be well op. A nice balance what people have been asking for for a while is 50-60 ammo. Right now I spend too much time going back to rearm but then I'm a pirate now in cz or res.

I'd like to see C3 rail guns but they might be op as well. Railguns right now tear ships up.

Yep, FD confirmed that there will be no C3 railgun for this very reason.
 
Did they nerf the rockets? the rate of fire isn't as bad as the damage it produces. you take a slot that can be a laser.which can do dps like whoa.

Yes, the rate of fire was reduced. I don't know the exact percentage, but it feels like 50% slower compared to release.

This is something I disagreed with somewhere else. Frag cannons are actually very good and are not meant to be used like the flak cannons you are used to from other space games. These are more meant to be used like a shotgun and they are amazing against bigger ships since you can generally hit with all of the fragments. As soon as you give them more ammo, we will have frag ships flying around melting traders and bigger ships and they will have to be nerfed somehow.
 
Hull reinforcement needs to protect 100% of the subsystems
Thermic: Damage 4 or more on shields, and sub-systems NO EFFECT on hulls.
Kinectic Damage 4 or more on hulls, and subsystems, NO EFFECT on shields
Rail Guns Damage 2 on shield, hull, and subsystems
Item to hold 50 missiles for a missile launcher.

I prefer that the weapons reasonably adhere to the laws of physics, not to the laws of a timepiece. With current technology, lasers can pierce metal. And while shields are science fiction, the literature and entertainment industries have presented shields as being affected by lasers and projectiles to varying degrees. FD is biased toward giving the players a game that doesn't require them to suspend disbelief too much and your proposed changes would have all of the players (except you, of course) shaking their heads in disbelief.

maybe it is a bug or something, for some reason, the rail guns, or maybe it was the beam lasers, was ripping through my shields, and hulls, like I had no gear on...

ok, true. I have only made alittle over 2 million, but 9.60 on the power, with the shield booster taking 30% power sucks...

Maybe your right, and the small ships are close, it's just the weapons need some kind of power kick. A2 power gen, and power dis is 9.60 on the power, but if you try to use like the A3 thurster, or different set ups, you have to remove the shield booster. I have even seen where I would need 12.40 or so, just to run something...
 
yes lasers that the USA has, well the ones you can find, will frak a ship up bad, and take out a missile also. now now, I never asked for anything OP, but it has went that way, well it looks that way...

All I was asking for was some weapons that damage better, because they seem to have made some types of lasers harder hitting. Really, lasers that are weapons grad, would be the goto weapon, ammo rounds just take up to much room. Now missiles on an eagle should only be like 4 unless these are some small bad mf missiles..
