Patch Notes Update Powerplay Update 1.3.05 Incoming

So...I've read some posts today and a few things really jumped at me as problems for people

Exploration gives more credits when you go through enemy sites and power play points for it?

What enemy sites? Most of the galaxy is empty and you can explore stuff exactly one time anyway, so if you constrain power play exploration to power play alone you'd run out of enemy systems to scan pretty fast, even if every single system outside of your power's sphere of influence counts as enemy site.

Really, it would make more sense to give out merits to explorers coming home based on discoveries. Also the merit-decay just doesn't work if you're making month long trips all the time, like most explorers do. So merit-decay would have to switch off or something if you're far away enough from civilized space. Essentially, power play as it is now is one giant handicap for explorers. Explorers face a binary choice: Either participate in power play or go out exploring, but not both.

Repost from another thread:

Lack of info is the most frustrating and irritating in this dacay mechanic. We know how merits in PowerPlay decay and when, but there is very little info about reputation decay. I hope Michael or Edward or anyone from FD can answer a few questions below. It will help :)

View attachment 45644

1. When decay stops? Pls, see image above - a) at exact Friendly level, b) somewhere in between friendly and allied, c) at almost allied level

2. How much time does it take? Online and/or Offline? (it looks like it is online and offline)

3. Is it linear or faster to certain point and then slows down?

4. Can player slow it down or prevent it from happening somehow?

1 : Let's use common sense and assume it stops at "friendly" (0%)... Why would it be otherwise (unless one of the devs is autistic)?
2 : A few days from what I could see.
3 : Linear. I suppose. I don't know.
4 : Yep. Just keep doing a few missions to maintain your reputation.

Just a quick post to mention that it would be great to keep the community site updated with the patch notes! The last update was 1.3.0.1 I think!

They obviously have not fixed the bug which created the supposed Graphic only issue then.

Also why all the whining about the repair costs, Michael has already stated that they moved to server based calculations or some such with 1.3 and it has unexpected results that they are still attempting to trace.
They thought they had it fixed but had not so are still looking, that was after 1.3.0.4 and nothing has changed with 1.3.0.5

Just a thought; I guess its must be easier to code certain data into the server, or takes a less time, (or both) regarding this decision. I probably shouldn't say any thing; what do I know? But...the downside may be inadequate tools and/or communication between teams to bug test server code.

Unless you buy them on steam, then your just hosed.

AMEN .... I don't know how many times I have had to quit playing some of my heavily modded games because STEAM forces you to update. Absolutely stupid and why I REFUSE to use STEAM 99% of the time.

And OT.... I am pleased with how quickly the devs react to patching issues. Heck SWTOR is JUST now patching stuff we said was broke in BETA!! (3 years + ago) LOL

You realise there's a box to tick on steam to never auto update a game?
