I very much enjoy messing around with flight assist off, but have run into an awkward issue. For things to feel natural / controllable in FAOFF, I need to have my mouse axes set to relative mode, little-to-no deadzone, and low-ish sensitivity. If I try to fly in FAON or supercruise that way though, it feels like I'm attempting to pilot a lead brick in molasses. Horrible feel aside, I'm constantly running out off desk space too. I can take the time to adjust the settings (relative + low sensitivity + no deadzone for FAOFF) (absolute + higher sensitivity + deadzone for FAON) when I want to switch flight modes, but that obviously isn't an option while engaged in combat. As such, I'm forced to spend a decent amount of time flying with an extremely uncomfortable setup, or dedicate myself to one mode for a while.
What I would really like to see would be a second set of mouse option for when you activate FAOFF. Just copy-paste the options you have now (sensitivity sliders, deadzone sliders, relative / absolute switch, etc.) into a new section labled "FAOFF Controls", or something to that effect. I would guess it's a fairly easy fix / add-on, that would add quite a bit as far as quality of life goes. Whadaya say, FDEV?
Note: A similar "FAOFF section" may be useful for joystick / controller users too, but as I have not used either for ED before, I cannot comment.
