Feature Request: FAOFF-Specific Settings

I very much enjoy messing around with flight assist off, but have run into an awkward issue. For things to feel natural / controllable in FAOFF, I need to have my mouse axes set to relative mode, little-to-no deadzone, and low-ish sensitivity. If I try to fly in FAON or supercruise that way though, it feels like I'm attempting to pilot a lead brick in molasses. Horrible feel aside, I'm constantly running out off desk space too. I can take the time to adjust the settings (relative + low sensitivity + no deadzone for FAOFF) (absolute + higher sensitivity + deadzone for FAON) when I want to switch flight modes, but that obviously isn't an option while engaged in combat. As such, I'm forced to spend a decent amount of time flying with an extremely uncomfortable setup, or dedicate myself to one mode for a while.

What I would really like to see would be a second set of mouse option for when you activate FAOFF. Just copy-paste the options you have now (sensitivity sliders, deadzone sliders, relative / absolute switch, etc.) into a new section labled "FAOFF Controls", or something to that effect. I would guess it's a fairly easy fix / add-on, that would add quite a bit as far as quality of life goes. Whadaya say, FDEV?

Note: A similar "FAOFF section" may be useful for joystick / controller users too, but as I have not used either for ED before, I cannot comment.

+rep. But for now, I just have relative mouse all the time. Also no deadzone, but mid-sensitivity and some of that power curve.

You use relative mode with fa on? As in, the mode where you keep having to move the mouse to continue turning in a direction.

Interesting and great suggestion! It could work just like landing overrides.

I know in the Xbox version, you can press something and it will swap to a secondary controller profile...wonder if that binding will be available on PC eventually.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about the landing override section! Yes, something just like that, only instead of being activated by the landing gear coming down, it would be activated by FA being turned off.
I second this suggestion.

if not a whole set of settings, then at least allow us to have different relative mode setting for FA-OFF
That certainly is the biggest one, and I'd get along with just that. Would prefer to be able to have different sensitivities and deadzones too, though.
