The Powerplay discussion thread.

Quite right. TBH, I don't think most players even know how the whole PP thing works. Most people are just grinding at it as you say to get that faction toy or whatever, dumping their delivery boy mission crap at the nearest possible star system without any thought or consideration.

The reason Powerplay is failing is it's because it's a half-thought out, imbalanced system that's another vehicle for grind, and that FD is glacially slow in fixing and adjusting. Furthermore, it requires groups to apply tactics while giving them no tools to discuss plans, and it obscures some of the most important mechanics. It's not failing because some people on reddit are trying to organise their efforts - that's just you being over-sensitive.

For me, it's failing because I can go *jumpjump* 600KCR *jumpjump* 800KCR repeat (without putting effort into finding a better route). It seems to me, although I'd be happy to be corrected, that Powerplay's grind doesn't offer the same.

So you're actively engaged in powerplay and, not satisfied with the leadership or actions of your group are having to make a decision about how you're going to shake things up and put it back on track or disassociate yourself with them.

Damn, sounds like some serious in-depth gameplay content there. Wish I were you.

people prep, expand systems with negative CC, or over fortify stuff without reason. Some players and groups spend alot of time devising plans and strategies for their faction. For your faction to expand and keep control of systems its better to listen to their guidelines and act accordingly.Or you can just do your thing whatever it is and no one can stop you.

Some people like to look at the big picture, develop a strategy and get the power they're backing on top, some don't. By all means, if you are in the latter, prepare the Sh... Shtuff out of HIP 32812! This is your right, and in doing so, you're helping me, as well as everyone else, who are not supporting Winters. Go ahead and fortify that 800% over-fortified system while you're at it - It's so close, just 1 jump away, so that's gotta be a good idea!

The issues with PP aren't that people are getting "bossed around", it's that they refuse to consider the reason that the self proclaimed leaders are telling them to do what they're telling them to do. While there is a very common myth that there is no wrong way to play a video game, this is completely false. Take other MMO's for example - My warrior in Everquest can wear raw hide armor. Doing so is suicide - And I don't need to tell you a single game mechanic, nor do you need to know anything about Everquest to realize that I'm right.

TL;DR
You don't have to listen to anyone but yourself, including your power and how well they're going to do.

I removed myself off reddit because our opponents use all the data posted to wall for their own use. Reddit is not functional and it operates way too strongly under moderators who has own agenda in the game. - Reddit is not going to be my tactical zone ever.
That problem has been wiped out from my list. However... the pure sabotage from their team is internal problem which we can not solve. The current situation is extremely dividing and we would declare independence instantly if that is possible. We do not want to take control over some systems with immediate contact with opponents because of the heavy costs of undermining... By all means it will mean the power will go into turmoil when the reality opens.

I play this chess with few buttons in correct places, trying to put them on spots where we have possible expansions to cover losses. - Li 's power is doing tactics far better than Felicias team. Also A' Duval is.

Why to fortify systems which are not in conflict zone? - We need to get the aliens in the game fast to make it reasonable.

Anyway. I have ordered my team not to prepare any system which has less than 100CC / W ratio so we don't have to expand hard. Meanwhile our expansion are sabotaged by putting systems even with insane low income above them.
Am I going to flip the card? - Most likely if they keep pushing us to accept low grade systems just because they don't want high grade systems. - What the???

I am literally hitting the wall from inside the power.

"This is an example of a topic which points out how some group of players have decided to tell everyone "preparation is not a priority" and "stop to expand" or to proceed with power. We must do it only their way or not at all. "

Been there too. Ignore them and do what you want.

Join one of the smaller powers and you'll also have a bigger voice as there are less members.

Come and join Antal and I'll stick up for you and sow ill others. The Antal group is small and has been through the You Must stage and has definitely improved.

Well our group does think twice before prepping, and they only think once before doing the sabotage. What ever is our front is being sabotaged by reddit´s team. If you were in my shoes you would see how bad tactics we have to swallow with this.

They seem to know what theyre doing, Winters was falling in rank fast, theyre back at nr2 now after organising. Good work for them.

It happens to be my team who got the most of income into their power. Now we are getting flamed for it. - What the other side is doing is trying to UNDO what we did last cycle.

There is no wrong way to play a video game. It's no myth. My game, my way, period. As it stands, I'm not in communication with a solitary soul pledged to the same power. I'm not even going to give the aforementioned self-proclaimed leaders a moments attention. They're on their own as far as I'm concerned.

This thread is why I'm 100% against guilds ever being added to the game. I've had enough bosses for one lifetime.

I completely agree with you. I only want elite as game to determine the position of the player. I don't want anything from 3rd party to come into game to mess around and talk to me like I am some garbage which they can kick around cause they moderate some freeking website.

Just another reason why I think preparation should not be wide open - the systems to prepare should be voted on by the players in the previous cycle, or at worst automatically picked by the system.
