Hello. First thing i want to mention, english is not my first language so please be kind about this.
And a warning long wall of text ahead.
I started to play Elite Dangerous from various reasons, but the most important reason is pvp. In my opinion it's funniest way to spend your time in a multiplayer game. As soon as i can get my hands on my first Viper i tried with mixed results (read die alot) to kill other players. Next step was Cobra but i managed to die alot more in Cobra compared with Viper. Back to the Viper and then next step was Imperial Courier. A tough little ship, way better for pvp for a noob like me.
In this time every time i encounter another player i just kill him (if he doesn't kill me ofc), no communication, i really love the pretty explosions. After powerplay start i joined Code as a possible recruit (i am still a recruit) and i pledged for Archon Delaine.
Next step to me was to past in chat "For the Archon!" and then proceed to kill the other player. In this time my only regret was why i cannot fly Cobra properly? In the first Elite (played by me on Speccy) and in second one i fly almost exclusively on Cobra and it was a great ship.
So two days ago i decided to give Cobra a new chance (thx to the user Ziljan on this forums and his advice how to fly this ship). I fitted a piracy Cobra with cargo scanner, cargo rack (in the past cargo rack was a blasphemy for me, better to fit one more scb), and limpets to gather the precious loot.
My first eye opener was the range on this ship, it gives me a great freedom to roam pretty fast alot of systems. Second if the things goes south i can run away pretty fast (essential in piracy).
At first i asked for a measly 4 cargo because i really do this for fun, not for profit. The asking for cargo when you don't know how to do it properly can be pretty hilarious especially if your hands shake from adrenaline.
Then i go on the Code forums and i discovered this piece of software called Autohotkey and my time/typing problem was solved. The sad thing most of the players don't even bother to respond to my hails, forcing me to destroy their ships (yeah i am very "sad" about this).
Then one pilot in transport ship drop me my first loot 10 rare artwork (i manage to scopp only 7 because of the police). No problem i am off to sold my first loot i am gonna be a rich pirate RARE ARTWORK ftw. Did i mention my rank in trading is mostly penniless? That's because i have no clue about these things. After i get some advices from teamspeak from fellow pirates, i manage to find a nearby system with a black market on a outpost station. And surprise:
Waat? We talk about 7 Picasso here man and you give me this price? Fuel, repairs, ammo, bounty on my head and you came with this? Wow clearly if you want to make a small fortune from piracy you have to start with a big fortune.
So i refitted my ship, cargo scanner in the bin, hello heat sink launcher, and bye bye limpet control hello second scb. I decided to be a poker pirate: i ask for cargo and if the player wanna drop some great if not will see about this.
Next target was a big, fat T9.
As you can see my typing is way better thanks to Autohotkey. Also the problem is the player is aligned with Zemina and most probably his cargo is pp related wich makes a valid target for an Archon supporter like me.
Anyway the player was polite and pretty sincere: he doesn't have anything good and i have to believe him because i choose to not fit a cargo scanner.
I decide to let him free because in the end i do this for fun, his cargo was useless for me even if is "expensive" cargo.
Now in the end piracy without cargo scanner is not really piracy (i hope the Code guys will forgive me for this), if you bother to respond to me, you will be on your way without any harm from me. Of course i prefer to shoot things and if you try to run i will gladly destroy your ship (or at least i will try to).
P.S. Cobra MK. III really rocks, now my Courier and Vulture gather dust in my hangar.
