I Died to an NPC :(

I'm ashamed to admit it. Might be time to uninstall.

He seems to be spawn camping me now. Just got interdicted by the same Deadly Python, barely escaped the second time.

I just bought a type 9, I wont lie, I'm not impressed with its combat capabilities.

Well, I guess with these NPCs, nowhere is safe. Even solo isn't Elite: Harmless.

And remember folks, whenever a player is killed by an NPC, a Sarah Jane gets her wings. ;)

The only time I die to NPC's is when outnumbered at strong signals or against wings of Conda's.... no shame in it really. If you die to a lone Sidewinder something is badly wrong!!!

please tell me you joking / being sarcastic? A deadly python SHOULD be a bum clencher against a T9 imo.

I interidicted a wing last night, they were all wanted NPC's. A T7 and two Cobra's. Normally its a piece of cake, take down the cobbies and then the T7. Normally only one is attacking at once. Except last night they didnt, they all came at me guns blazing, took out the two Cobbies but had to Sir Robin as the T7 had destroyed my shields and hull was at 89%.

No shame in it. It was great fun, and far better than the usual duck shoot.

damn..... I have not been get on to try out the new update but this sounds really interesting.
so long as they have the balance right with different systems increasing chances of spawning dangerous ships in low sec spare OR the authorities make a timely appearence to help out in hisec then this is brilliant.

if however it is just rock hard all over the place, with no ai support in the way of police, then I fear for the lone wolf!.

Is almost everyone here ignoring the fact that he was trying to fight a python in a T9? Or should the T9 be able to easily take an NPC Python? I'm confused

From my reading of the OP it seems that he was trying to escape from the Python after being interdicted. If Type9s can't ever escape from such an encounter then who'll want to trade in one alone? (sadly we don't have the NPC Wingmen discussed in the DDF)

Yes, the Python interdicted me, I've only got D equipment on the Type 9, I haven't been able to fight an interdiction yet, but the problem was the mass lock.
I didn't realise a Python mass locks a Type 9.
My 6D shields were down in a few seconds.

It was a Deadly Python Adjuster. The Adjusters have been attacking me outside stations too, there have been so many of them.
Most of you probably aren't lucky enough to get attacked by the Adjusters :)

There was a thread regarding tactics to escape successful interdictions. The guy was claiming 99% success... I only remember a few key stuff:

When shields are down, Full Speed Boost, FA off, Heat Sink, Silent Running, get the ship to a spin and let it drift away...

Also, would you have the time to engage High Energy FSD (since you were mass locked) ?

I believe only the mass lock from a station prevents you jumping to another system.

Thats why I asked if he had the time to engage High Energy FSD... He was only mass locked for Low Energy so if he was able to tank the Python for the duration of the charge he would've gotten away

Also the getaway thread was before the AI revamp...

can a (genuine question as i have not flown the "cow" since beta) Python mass lock a T9? If so that seems a bit mental..... if not then it surprises me that Fergal could not get out of dodge in time, unless he had no shields (which I must admit I always felt was something which should not be viable outside of hi sec space - and even in hi sec should be a little chancy TBH)

as for NPC wingmen.... I am with you 100%. It is crazy to me that they were not introduced the same time as wings... I will be sorely disappointed if they don’t come soon (real soon not Frontier soon).

The T9 has no combat capability. With a couple of turrets you used to be able to fight off little ships but their new AI makes even that unlikely.

The T9 is just a trading money printer. Strip the weapons off and never try to fight. Just chaff and run. Mostly you'll make it away alive. If you get A5 shield you should be OK.

When I read Hi Sec I immediately thought about Jita... and then asked myself how one can fly without shields... In EvE.

As for the wingmen, I think its an awesome idea... Even something like missions for other players, would bring the MM to the O :D

I'm sorry... I shouldn't grin at this... :D (laughs wickedly as she resumes her work on the new, much better tactics) I just know someone's gonna tell me to tone this down one day...

aye, there is lots of good stuff in the (whispers quietly behind his hand) DDA ;)

as for EVE... outside of a free dabble i have never played it. I am not saying it is not a great game, but it just was not my bag.
