I Died to an NPC :(

Love all the AI improvement but do wonder if the T ships are going to become useless without a wingmate to provide protection due to the number of losses incurred compared to the reduced cargo capacity of the multi-role ships. Also surprised that the mass lock for a T9 is so low...

So... now that NPC encounters can be actually unwinnable (Deadly/Elite python interdicts a T9... we all know what's gonna happen) - do they happen in appropriate locations? If this is in an Anarchy, and the trader is taking a risk by taking a shortcut through there, then fair enough. If this happens in "safe" systems then, well, is anybody ever going to fly a T9?

I'm sorry... I shouldn't grin at this... :D (laughs wickedly as she resumes her work on the new, much better tactics) I just know someone's gonna tell me to tone this down one day...

It's probably safer for the community at large that SJA is allowed to vent her <insert suitable words here> upon us players... Without such an outlet, I'm sure the cost to the NHS for her "medication" would be gargantuan! :D

Don't do that. Just make sure there is a difference between the types of AI pilot. So harmless being really hopeless and slowly scaling up to elite which is rock hard. Then if there is a requirement to tone it down just adjust the spawn system so that the more difficult AI pilots are generated more rarely.

When I see an elite AI Python I want my drink to come out of my nose. I want to have to take a breath and wonder if I dare risk it.

Who in the vacuum are 'Adjusters'?

Friendly guys who hunt me everywhere.

I'd say every 2nd system has at least one around the star.

When the new AI code comes on-line it will really be time to pay attention to AI pilot rank and number of ships.

As it is now, I am not hot-shot but can down a single Elite pilot without issue. More than one though and it can be rough as they get at different distances and it's hard to keep them all off.

Hopefully you don't adjust the AI so the pirates start attacking ships with no cargo or maybe just one or two cannisters. I think Elite pilot AI should also have some rules for when they would bother with lower ranking pilots or ships they way out-class. It will be more Dangerous but if a newbie gets in trouble, should they still be able to get away from an AI gang they had no clue would destroy them. With longer persistence and AI chasing Players, multiple interdictions, it could go from Dangerous to Dead pretty quickly since AI can be faster and more accurate than any human!

Thanks for all your posts Sarah, and for all the work you are doing. I need to buy another docking computer and check out your improvements as I haven't had one since 1.1.

Cheers!

Are they in any way related to Powerplay? I've never seen one, ever.

I wish for an experience similar to Monsieur FalconFly here, but apart from one cop stalking me over a couple of systems, nothing. I rob, I kill, I'm wanted, I'm hostile, I'm loaded with illicit cargo pretty much all the time...

I'm ashamed to admit it. Might be time to uninstall.

He seems to be spawn camping me now. Just got interdicted by the same Deadly Python, barely escaped the second time.

I just bought a type 9, I wont lie, I'm not impressed with its combat capabilities.

I love this. Umm, sorry about your trouble with the hungry Python but this totally is heading in the right direction as far as gameplay goes.
Surely, you didn't expect to kill this Python with your T9, did you? No need to uninstall. Just move on a bit wiser.
I carry several ton of gold with me everywhere I go just to prompt some better NPC action. They are getting better and smarter.
Keep at it. Space is getting exciting finally.

Oh no no no, defend your AI to the death!

Yeah, this! I've actually started having to try to win the interdiction mini game when flying my T7 after getting totally killed by an anaconda. I've also got to think hard whether to submit in my FDL. I got interdicted by an Anaconda and 2 more jumped in. Only just got out in time.

I mean, it's not all like that but the fact that it sometimes is has made it WAY more interesting than it was. The AI improvements have been great.

...

It was a Deadly Python Adjuster. The Adjusters have been attacking me outside stations too, there have been so many of them.
Most of you probably aren't lucky enough to get attacked by the Adjusters :)

Heheh. They've been hunting me trying to Adjust me as well, luckily I don't fly trucks.

I would love to see a wing of three anaconda's interdict my python on one of my trade runs. I am getting bored. :(

I play alone as my hours are irregular and meeting up with folks is tough to swing. I've been in CZ, NAV, RES, etc.

I fight when the odds are in my favour and run when they are not. I make sure I have decent shields, engines, chaff, point defense and SCB's. I traded on my first account almost exclusively and killed a lot of NPC pirates who interdicted me with my weak weapons. Security usually turned up in time and helped me kill them. I took damage to be sure, but I lived. Today with the AI improvements, I run a lot more. I died from CMDR encounters due to inexperience.

A T-9 can carry a lot of defensive equipment and can get away from anything if flown intelligently taking the conditions into account. If you choose to fight, make sure you set conditions in your mind when to run, % hull damage, etc. When those conditions are met you hoof it and don't look back.
