Should the Archon fall, long live...

Perhaps his successor as Pirate King should be charming rather than obnoxious, roguish not brutal, more Jack Sparrow than Ghengis Khan
.
It would also be a chance to experiment in linking powerplay with normal game mechanics:
.
PREPARATION would involve normal piracy of a system, gaining significant merits and prep points for every canister of stolen cargo sold back at base (not having done conventional piracy myself, I couldn't describe game tweaks needed in detail)
.
Once that is done, the system would be given a carrot-and-stick offer: Join us and the piracy will stop, plus you will enjoy increased trade. EXPANSION merits would be gained according to conventional trading profits in the system, with extra for Black Market!
.
Once taken, the protection racket would need to be delivered on: FORTIFICATION merits would be gained from destroying mundane criminals plus the ships of rival factions in-system.
.
Undermining enemies would be a mixture of piracy, destruction, and possibly even shipping propaganda power commodity if they are determined to have it in there somewhere.
.
System effects could make all commodities legal, open black markets, maybe boost certain commodities
.
Hopefully this pirate faction would have more success, inspire less opposition, and make the game more fun
.
ADDITION: amplify positive effects on all criminal groups thanks to the Pirate Monarch's anarchist philosophy and practices. If they become anarchy, fortification threshold falls (at this point, crim gangs assumed to have been assimilated to the faction)

I'm surprised that there haven't been a concerted effort to kill off Delaine or Antal yet. Perhaps people are unaware of how powers can fall?

Isn't Archon one of the most undermined power already? I have also seen some "5th column" systems for preparation with very very low profit or/and with only one station so far away from the start that it would be impossible to fortify them.

Also, who know, somebody in FD may have nerfed the cytoscrambler on purpose to have most pledgers defect...

It is rather frustrating that we are being ganged up on. It's definitely kick the dog time with us!

If Archon falls have decided that I am going to attack every other powers ships.

Especially the ones that joined up with the blue haired princess cos she is pretty!

Let the galaxy burn!

Indeed there have been efforts to kill us off right from the start.
Our HQ is camped almost 24/7, our 5th column is more active than columns 1-4, we are undermined relentlessly and we are gifted with the Cytoscrambler of Despair.

From another thread:

"Commanders should also be aware that we are backing a cross-Power offensive next cycle in conjunction with the other Imperials and Independents against Delaine."

Antal isn't a evil fraction, it's more of a fraction of "back in my day..." people.
Delaine on the other hand is a evil fraction, they are a brigade of criminal throughout the galaxy.

The pirates are constantly fighting with their neighboring fractions, which in turn results in them retaliating. So their actually has been attempts to take them down on several occasions. While the utopians just mostly stick to themselves and focuses on expanding towards open systems, so their actually hasn't been any large attempts to take them out because they aren't giving any other fractions a reason to attack as they are not attacking them. Both parties while completely different do share a common theme, they are the lowest ranked atm, which might be apart as to why you think there should be a "concerted effort to kill off Delaine or Antal" to get rid of the lowest common denominator. But, the powerplay ranks focuses more on how much space you control and how much CC your fraction gets, not how many players are in your fraction or such. Delaine always has a system "under threat" or such for reason you know, as they are always at war with other fractions but they ultimately win most/some of those wars in their space due to their numbers and skilled fighters. Utopians on the other hand are not always "under threat" like delaine because they are not starting wars nor attacking other fractions without a reason. Which the Delaine fraction has given them a reason to attack their ships as they have been attacking them and attempting to undermine them since powerplay started, so you can say Delaine and Utopia is at war...kinda. Utopia when asked will state "we are not at war with delaine" but will then say "they are not welcomed in our space". So...it's a war but it isn't according to them. While delaine will state "we are at war with Utopia" and such....so, it's a strange situation there. But regardless, both fractions are quite powerful but are completely different sides of the light spectrum.

I'm not sure where you got any of that from. We are not at war with Antal or anybody else as far as I am aware. Have you been listening to those Patreus guys? ;)

We are pirates, we don't wage war and we are not evil. We just have an alternative philosophy regarding the correct distribution of wealth and a dislike of all those who side against freedom.

Dognabbit! That is so bloooody unfair! As if Pirates and evil type ne'er do wells haven't been stuffed with the short end of the stick all this while, and then PP comes and FD puts in this pirate Power with everything stacked against them, then rubs salt in with the Craposcrambler. I'd imagine they were all chortling while planning PP's first round. I'm gonna defect over, support the underdogs! Oh wait, will the Kumos still be around next cycle?

I'm considering joining pretty girl's side, then murdering her teenage fanclub on their own turf. Stab in the back = best stab. ;)

I don't think FD stacked it against you. I know for a fact the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER is backing Archon Delaine.

at this rate, yes. but 2 cycles from now? doubt it. They are making enemies everywhere and have lost control over a few systems. It's only a matter of time before that power ends up getting killed off due to their "attack everything" motto

Archon Delaine is less a pirate, more just a thug who was the nearest thing in PP for pirates to go for. The pirates should have somewhere to go and something to do instead of threatening to grief

I been keeping track of this stuff for my own amusement
Well I didn't see any declarations of war in our subreddit and I'm not sure why a picture of the powerplay map is relevant.

I know everyone loves to hate pirates but we have been quite peaceful compared to some of the other powers. I don't think we would even bother to expand much if it wasn't required by the game mechanics. Number crunching in pursuit of some expansionist dream isn't really our thing..

Hey, don't you know that the News are full of lies nowaday? Maybe the bad guy is not as bad as people say...
