I didn't know that, but still isn't that better than getting nothing and blowing them up?![]()
I don't think they were after cargo.

Logic would dictate that something beats nothing any day of the week.....however yes I believe cargo was not a motivating factor. You dropped your shields and that made you an easier victim as the PK was all they wanted with a hopeful side effect of g up your day.
When I evaded the fourth or so interdiction, he called me a hacker xD
The idea is the next time they won't argue or haggle.I didn't know that, but still isn't that better than getting nothing and blowing them up?![]()

I don't get why you'd take the shields down to "show compliance". If they want your shields gone, it happens.I've always believed that abandoning is gaming the system. I'm usually a full time pirate (hey Quineloe it's Pzkp the bagpipes guy), and I recognize that pirates need money whenever they can get it. Problem is, I was fully prepared to give it and they decided to blow me up, just for taking my shields down, not even moving! If they shot because they thought I was using Silent Running, they're morons.
To specify, it was an FdL and his friend in... a Python? Never saw his buddy.
I hope you didn't get reported in addition to being an unwilling victim....they sound like the age of player that would do such a thing LOL
The next time they'll be in Solo.
Yep, it came up when I searched pirate, or was it blackbeard? I don't remember.![]()
Not everyone escapes to easy modeThe next time they'll be in Solo.
Pirates need to kill traders. What other leverage do they have to make you drop cargo?Don't kill the traders, you lose business that way.
This. Since it's a video game, it's important to be friendly with all of those who you play with, out of common decency. If they're not going to play nice, i won't play at all. I'm in a PG wing RN![]()

Abandoning is not really gaming the system, it's using the mechanics of the system. If you can force someone to give you the pink slip instead of just grabbing his car keys, that's just as real. And you always have a choice.

Open play is not for traders, the sooner people realise the sooner posts like this stop. Open play is a PvP arena like CQC except it's bigger and has a permanent affect on your credit balance.
If you See another player in open play, jump away or face the consequences.
I only ever open play in my vulture now, my trade clipper sits nice and safe in Mobius group or solo.
Its kind of cheating really, I do a few runs in my clipper and earn a few million then go get my vulture, spec it up and head out into open play without any risk to my money making machine.
By this logic though you could reverse it and be just as valid. E.g.
open play is not for pew pew gankers "pvp", the sooner the pew pews realize that, the sooner posts like this stop. open play is a trade, explore, social / role play sandbox - including consensual combat or singing pirates - except its bigger than XXX and has a permanent effect on your credit balance (by trade, ramming into a star, etc)
I personally dont believe all the way in your statement, nor in my example above. But if you believe in yours, then theres no logic that says a pve'er cant just as arbitraily declare open = pve , as much as you just declared open = pvp and everyone else .
