Now, I really don't know how I've named and shamed someone directly, perhaps I've done it indirectly by linking a reddit post that linked to a video that named the cheater. BTW here we are talking about a PROVED cheater who has been banned by FD for that.
It is like saying: Jon Doe is a killer, after a court judged him guilty of killing someone, and the Mods say to you: please do not name and shame that poor man.
But I understand we have to blindly respect the RULES. We at least.

I'm the one who recorded this hacker admitting to hacking. Laughing off FD and their timid stance on hacks. I'm not one of those guys that believes everyone hacks. I understand my perception is fallible. But when it is this blatant. And the person hacking laughs off his 1 week shadow ban publicly. He is toxic. This isn't some one who cares. I am not going to let this one go.
There is a lot of debate on how to punish this guy, but there is one solitary point everyone has agreed on and that is that a 1 week shadow ban is NOT enough. You decide what to do Frontier but if you want to save face with your customer base you need to do MORE and let us know you took more action than a simple 1 week shadow ban.
Its clearly not the prefered way but it does feel like its coming to something like that. I'd be a lot more convinced by FD if they didnt appear so soft on this issue. Once a cheater, always a cheater..QED
They should role it in to lore, have them tagged as "Outcast" and refused docking permissions in all but anarchy systems. Buying equipment and ships should cost them double, as should repairs and fuel due to their poor social standing. Maybe even have outfitters refuse to sell them high spec gear and have them relentlessly chased out of systems, set their rep so low no faction would trust them with a ton of biowaste.

FD is so weak it is just breathtaking. It's like some primary school approach to discipline.
Hand out a few permabans when it's this clearcut, and this stuff will drop a bit. We can also enjoy the parent outrage threads that little Timmy could not possibly have x, y and zedded.

That wouldn't work - remember, they're cheating. They can be in a starter sidey and still have infinite shields, 100ly jump range and do 100s of MJ worth of damage with their C1 pulses. The only effective way of dealing with these players is to segregate them to cheater servers.

1 week does seem a little light as a penalty.
For all we know the CMDR might only play on weekends lol
If it is a clean cut case, there should be a warning with perhaps a 1 month ban, followed by a perma-ban if found cheating again, IMO.

I would ban to Shadowland permanently since flagged by the community. It's a hearts and minds thing.
They can still play the game, just not with others unless others already reside there.
I really have no time for this but if proven cheating, maintain the nerf list and keep it permanent. Especially those who don't care and make you look bad ED...

why don't they deal with cheaters and exploiters the way Davod Braben mentioned? put them all together in the same instances and let them exploit and cheat each other, the bonus is that they'll bug fix the game for you by showing breakable and weakpoints in the code.
the fact that he is jumping 100LY should be easy to spot server side. 30.53LY is the absolute MAX a stripped down python can jump. should have been an easy tell. which nobody would run. how hard would it be to have a max LY jump identifier server side for every ship type to raise flags. i doubt its the first time he has ever jumped way farther than he was able to without cheating. and players still had to report it
