Python weapons

3 fixed class 3 pulse lasers, and 2 class 2 gimballed... CANONS. Boy they are fun. I really this setup. Now I have something to take down the shields and then rip the hull to shreds with those canons. If the target uses chaff, just continue with the lasers. Nothing gets the time anymore to jump out. Those canons really mean business.

my set up exactly :)

This is the only weapon suitable for a Python.

This eagle thought I was trolling. For the remaining 3/10ths of a second of his life.

How long does your power last on that? I currently run only a single C3 Beam and 4 C2 Multis to cut down on power. I can actually have 2 pips to weapons and shoot for minutes. I imagine you run out in less than 20 seconds with that.

The three pulse lasers last a long time on their own, but not as long as the two class two beams, which drain almost nothing by themselves. All five don't sustain for very long, but that's OK, I usually only use the beams for shield work. I always have a chuckle when I see someone I'm shooting fire chaff.

Does that look like a beam to you?

Its completely correct, the hardpoints are too spread out to make fixed weapons viable on the Python against smaller ships. Of course if you only mean to use the two medium beams at the same time, then sure you can hit a Imp Fighter from 2.5km.

If you wish to prove me wrong, post a video of Python using all fixed weapons against anything. And we'll all have a laugh and see how that goes.

So far I can hit anything but an Eagle or a Sidewinder with all guns using 5x fixed beams (cause fun, that's why). You can't hit the little stuff with all 5 at once... but really... wouldn't that be overkill? Haven't actually tried it on a Viper yet, but you can easily drill the zillions of pirate Cobra's you will find with all guns at once.

I'm not really good with fixed weapons, so i have to get more used to them.

Running 3x C3 Beams (fixed) and 2x C2 Multicannon (gimballed).

5 Lasers waste too much energy for me because, like i said, my aim is lacking.
Using MCs only for finishing off or if the enemy gets annoying.

I am very close to buying a Python & am curious as to the best weapons layout. Also, a 'make do for now' set-up if anyone has some suggestions. Cash will be tight as I can just about afford the insurance, cargo upgrades & some stock to get me going. What should I be aiming for?

Thx in advance for any replies
Klab :)

It really depends on what you are planning to do with the python, if you are just going to hunt NPC's then I would suggest 3 C3 Gimballed Pulse and 2 C2 gimballed Multicannons, if you're considering fighting players, the I would suggest 2 C3 Gimballed Pulse (top hardpoints), 1 fixed C3 Beam lower hardpoint and 2 C2 Railguns.

Hah, the undead are comming! never the less !

Exactly my setup.
He didnt, because there are no class 3 gimballed cannons in the game. Only turrets and fixed.

You can find Class 3 Gimballed Cannons at Beta-1 Tucanae (Adams Orbital) its what I am using on my Python. I was using 3x Large Gimballed Cannons and 2x Med Gimballed Beams for melting smaller ships. I am however thinking that I am going to move to 3x Large Gimballed Pulse and 2x Med Gimballed Multi-Cannons. I have not played this load out yet so if there are heating or other issues I am open to inputs. My current load out is great for larger ships and Anacondas - but with the current swarming of smaller ships in the Combat Zones I need to rethink my build a bit.

Edit: Old post some one is a very high level Necromancer.
