Im still not sure we're talking about the same thing. At 1:00 i hear a howl, then at ~1:05 the morse chittering and in the background this strange noise, that seems to get louder and louder. Then i hear the morse-closer and the first purr. There are also some "inbetween purrs". All while in the background is this noise. Sometimes you also hear this typical radio-voice-like-distortions you get in human space.

The Howl starts at 1:05, and ends at 1:10: that noise sound is always there, even over the Howl and goes on and on.
It is not like voice distortion, it's more like a radio noise, but different, and it seems to "modulate", never stopping, and looping the same "sequence". dididih didih dididididih didih dih like that

EDIT: VERY IMPORTANT IS THAT, THIS SOUND, BECOMES FAINT AND THEN DISAPPEARS WHEN RATKING15 MOVES THE CAMERA AWAY FROM THE UA! SO IT IS COMING FROM THE UA FOR SURE...

The UA is burning it's way out of the T9 sooner or later. So the "end" of the UA convoi is, when the UA drops out. Not sure if anyone has tried to go on following the convoi after he lost the UA.

Interesting, thanks.

I wonder are the routes random, or do they lead to/from a certain point? If the UAs come from one source, and Frontier model it realistically, the routes might trace back towards a certain system. You'd need a decent amount of data to pin it down though!

When i open this link: https://soundcloud.com/azerusrtificial/sets/ratking-plague-ua-test

I go to 1:00. There is the howl and it ends at 1:05. Are we talking about different things?

Yes, we were listening to different recordings. BTW, in your link, it's that sound that grows and then becomes very clear at 1:30 and stays forever.
It's the same sound I was talking about.
You cannot hear it at 1:00 because Ratking is still far from the UA, then he gets closer and that background sound appears and stays, looping. WHAT IS IT?
It comes from the UA for sure...

Does anyone know a good way to get Twitch and/or Soundcloud audio?

I'm spending ages just trying to get access to audio files even then it often doesn't seem to work. =(

Late to the party here.

Where can one get a UA and a SAP-8 container?

What happens if they're in the same cargo hold?

i have used this
https://twitchtools.com/video-download
to download the video, then i snipped out the useless parts with a tool called "free video editor" (its a part of DVDVideoSoft Free Studio)
then i saved it once as flv and once as mp3

for soundcloud:
just google for "soundcloud downloader" - you should find a tool that can do it, atleast i can find several german links
edit:
anything2mp3.com
this works

I use audacity and just record it while it's playing. Just select the "Speakers" as recording device and not the microphone.

It has also many good ways to modulate the audio.

Ah yeah, it's so slow a 700mb twitch stream.

I'm using VLC but it keeps failiing to convert to mp3 Ill try your one. =)

It sounds to me like the sound of a overhead power line or something. But what part of it does sound like morse to you?

What streaming software are you using bitstorm?

This is how I separated my mike from the speakers, I dont know it it will help.

The background noise is what I have referred to as wind in the past and I have always heard it, I haven't analysed it much but I have to say that it sounds a lot like the chirping you get from the sun when you are fuel scooping very close to it.

That test has been done, nothing happens in or out of the hold.

We've dozens of recordings. And in all this recordings only TWO are different(that i know about). And the only change is that the amount of purrs changed from 6-7 to 2-3. That is HUGE (atleast as huge as i've written this word!) in my opinion and we should not lose the track on this lead.

+rep, always good to see enthusiasm for the purr length change :)

One thing we were looking for was a marker that might suggest the begin/end of a message cycle. This could be it, we just need many consecutive UA drops to capture enough data to hear the cycle again.

The fact that two pilots observing the same UA hear different purrs bothers me a little though.

*begin wild theory* However it could just be locally time seeded or that there's a running position for each viewer that depends on how much of the message a given viewer has heard already, so it's easier to capture the entire thing. After scooping in the test where it changed to 2-3 purrs, Ratking15s second drop continued the 2-3 purrs, where ordinarily I would have expected it to revert to the longer groups again. Could just be a random event, but if we see it again it could be significant (or just another part of the random simulation). *end wild theory*

"Format Factory" also works, and its even if you just want to convert. just tried to convert a flv directly into mp3 - worked without problems

don't know if it's morse, but it's some kind of code repeating in a loop. Listen to it at a very high volume on headphones, it is not constant and it seems to contain some very fast dot and dashes style code, with small pauses, it's not a plain sound. Hard to explain, just listen: it repeats a sequence in loop. Or I'm going mad.

Sorry, the formulation was a bit unclear. I did not mean to say: 2 viewers hear different sound from 1 UA. I meant: if there are 2 UAs at the same position in the same instance both emit different sound. :D

Btw, just as a question.
found this on reddit (while i was seaching for that relicspace asset):
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...ssible_uknown_artifact_decoding_breakthrough/
I ran a frequency analysis and did some basic alphabet shuffling (rot 13 and so forth) and squeezed the space character into the alphabet (there are some letter combos that don't occur naturally) and came up with this for the 6 bit combos (7 bits I've left as _ to represent unknowns and/or additional punctuation)

_ _ _ _ _ _ _
A L L T H E
S E _ _ _ _ _
? _ ? O R L D
S A R E B
what happened to this one?
