No debris, it is just gone.
Wishblend or RedWizzard hit one by accident.
Luckily it duplicated.

I might be interested in helping out with the search of a new Unknown Artefact, but I probably won't be dedicated enough to keep it.

I'ok keep you guys updated if I do happen across it in play.

Just out of curiosity and not because i plan to auction off any UA's i find to the highest bidder in the thread but how much would someone pay for the chance to be the person who found out the secret?

Let me specify with credits in game so i don't get in trouble.

I would rather work it out, I wouldn't pay anything just to know. I would pay good money for a UA though!

I'm more interested in the next step of the puzzle, perhaps something I can actually help with, than being the person to solve this part.

i would only "hypothetically" be auctioning off the UA. I don't know what the secret is or any hints but who ever wins the auction would have one to test any theories they had and possibly crack it.

I feel certain, however, that if there is information present in the purrs, then each individual recording of a UA should contain that information, or parts of that information - therefore it should be possible to decode it from just one recording.

If this analysis is accepted, then any further analyses on other UA recordings to gather the high/low tone 'map' should use the same parameters for identifying the 'purrs' - i.e. only including those that occur after the morse finishes and when the next honk starts since, in this recording at least, any other hidden purrs were not apparent until the audio was sped up.

As I write that final sentence I realise that this analysis might not have been possible without using the audio tool Audacity to simplify the process of identifying high/low pitches. This is completely contrary to audio presented to us as citizens of Elite Dangerous, and therefore any information or hypotheses constructed based around such analysis could be argued to be flawed at best.

I'm in Timocani at the moment and there's only been 12 visiting ships in the last 24 hours! a couple of them are me and a few more are a cmdr I met yesterday who wasn't hunting UA's at the time
whats cmdr traffic like in 109 virginis?
maybe we should start a new prize fund to attract a few more hunters, it was suggested by arcononn earlier but I don't think it got anywhere

I haven't been out of Timocani since Saturday...so I'm probably not registering as a visit. I haven't been in game constantly, I don't get much chance to play... a fair few hours since then though.

All,

My normal haunt is mapping on the fringes of human occupied space and I have since 1.2 been dropping into USS, WSS and the odd SSS. Alot of the WSSs contain ship wreckages, with salvageable cargo, which is normally junk, but not always.

Anyway a confession - about a week ago one of the wrecks had some canisters of Experimental Chemicals in it and like a fool, I ignored them and continued my mapping. Anyway long story short I have just picked up a can and wonder if you chaps might like to have it, as I don't think I've seen it mentioned int he UA threads - I don't have a description, as I think you need to be in a station for that?

I'm going to start heading into human space now.

Aye yeah I did.

it's just I'm in 109 V and at least we know they've dropped here before.

I tried 20 O the other night nothing. Maybe I'll give it another go for 30 minutes or so, possibly more spawns there but if 20O isn't in the designated drop area.....
