NOVA FLEET [General Discussion]

I think that 16 Persei or Qi Yomisii could be our home system, are those near the frontier? If yes, we all should go there and make our presence and intentions to "own" the system noticeable, making a thread or something alike should work.

apart from the transport what was everyone flying? think it might be more cost effective for me to kit out a cheap ship rather than try in my vulture ???

I am using a cobra with a 36t cargo capacity, does the job for me nearly half mill every run out from Leesti(180lys)

Afternoon, Chaps! Been flying around for about 3 or so weeks, looking for a good community. Kinda lonely out there, ya know. GT is Icecanburn

I was just getting the impression the "frontier" was our home base, no one place but a collective.

Is it wrong that I've still not played in Open, only Solo... I've just made my first million with a shieldless 52T Cobra with A, B and C parts. Every thread about people interdicting for no reason, or uber-fighters cutting your ship in half in half a second, makes me never want to play with real people!

Talk me into it :D

I smuggle in a Vulture with 2 C3 beam's. Yesterday a comander thought I'd be an easy kill in his Python seeing my Vulture was shieldless at that time, I couldn't help but shout "RUN FOREST!" as his FSD charged and his thruster's wer dangerously close to 0%. He got away though, but it was fun. :D

Greetings. :)

New recruit here, also totally addicted after only an hour or so of play. Tried the trial for 20 minutes and decided to buy the full game. Been wanting a game like this for years and heard of this way back in the day but forgot about it as i dont have a gaming pc, thought i was going to have to settle for No Man's Sky (if he ever releases it) but even that isn't coming to XB1 so i thought i was SOL so when i saw this had come to the XB1 last night i was super excited!

I downloaded the 1-hour trial and after experiencing how well made and polished the tutorial missions where i had to buy it! This "BETA" is in far superior shape and playable than most AAA full releases these days, which is sad and amazing at the same time. And it is half the price of a full retail release!

Now im just looking for some knowledgeable players to explore space with and learn how to properly play this mammoth game. I have flight controls, combat, docking and faster than light travel down pretty well, but need help with pretty much the rest. Trading, smuggling, exploration, scanning etc etc.

I have signed up to the Nova Fleet so hopefully will see some of you in the black soon.

Welcome! I don't get on till around 1:30 am US est, but if you are on then, I'll fly with ya. My GT is the same as here.

I tried a bit of mining in my cobra - kept getting interdicted on way too, but submitted for bit of fun and killed me a few piratey scumbags.
Didn't find the mining that interesting, because I forgot to buy limpet collectors (doh!), but it was fun noticing the little laser light shows going on in the distance, and then boosting off to join in and kill some more piratey gits. Nice little earner in bounties.

But got bored of that when submitted to another interdiction, only for 1on1 battle to rage with a big ship, didn't pay much attention to what it was as barely time to pick my nose before it was filling my face full of lasers and missile alerts! My two beams and big cannon just did for him though, while I was left with 1% hull! - some poolice turned up a bit too late to help out too, and then had the nerve to try to scan me... I boosted away asap so they didnt notice the asylum seekers who had broken into my cargo bay at that last outpost.

Did a bit more exploring (even first discoverer of an entire system - wolf 1297 - which seems to have some good mining opportunities if anyone is interested - pristine reserves on some of it?) but it does take a while to scan everything, although the odd interdiction while waiting for that scanner to complete livened it up a bit.

After that I bit the bullet and got me an Asp from Diaguandri (cheap ships/parts at Ray's gateway), and now just need to do some more quick smuggling jobs to get some better thrusters (everything else all good but not quite top of range stuff - 4mil for top spec parts on this!?), but if I find more missions like tonight where made half mil+ in one trip (two jobs to same station) then I'll be very happy, and will venture a bit further out once the Asp is even more maxed out.
Currently I have settled on two beams (med) and 4 multicannons (smalls) as wasn't that impressed with the small cannons I used on the cobra (sounded nice but fire rate didnt seem that good, unless my beams used all the juice!), but any spec tips would be appreciated. The engines on this Asp sound amazing though, and the cockpit view is much nicer than the cobra too.

Love this game, a big thank you to Frontier for bringing it to console.

And for anyone who is annoyed by the default 'yaw into roll' control method ing them off when docking, I would recommend using the small yaw then roll option - I find it much easier for not scraping the door of stations or the toast rack when boosting in on silent running to help those asylum seekers reach that better life...

Yea ok, they were slaves, but what can I say... they were cheap.

The Frontier is the "zone" that limits with uncivilized space, oen the map and set the filter to show only populated systems (or to show kind of government) and then scroll 'till you don't see colonized space, those last systems, those are the Frontier

I know what I was talking about. "The frontier system's as a whole" I maybe should've said.
