Well... hmm... I would have stuck to solo, especially flying shieldless with a UA. But, alas, hindsight is 20/20
It apears as though its time I fired up my conda and log back into elite for the first time in ages. Hopefully I can spend the weekend joining the hunt.

Well I stick to open play since it makes it more interesting....and it is just a game not real life............but I try to treat it a bit like real life as with the big UA test I did a while back I said go to one system where I would be doing the test and did it in another one while telling those who I deemed to be okay while I had people close by who could jump in or out to deal with them......so it's a problem of really taking the chance which is there if you give it. Sadly though Zenith...couldn't have known nor avoided unless he was dropping out each time he had a player on screen or something.

Just got blown away by CMDR Ecco at Shinrarta Dezhra.
I was already heavily damaged from UA decay, and shield generator was turned off to power the AFMU.
I got hit by what I think was a rail gun 4 times.

Sorry folks, we're back down to 1 UA.

Back again here after an intense PvP session.

I know this CMDR very well. I know were he likes to go. He will be dead by tomorrow. And not just one time.
I feel guilty for what happened, cause I was just going to help CMDR Zenith, to escort him, and 3 friend of mine showed up almost "obliging" me to join them for a PvP session I could not refuse...

Well this is the original recording, mine might be an interpretation so possibly sounds more "composed", you probably have a better ear than me.

The "notes" are well in the background, really hard to make out, I think you need headphones.

It's that background whine almost like maybe an ice cream van.

The note sequence I think repeats ~3.5 times, the recording starts when it's already halfway though.

There are 11 notes, if perhaps I was missing a twelfth then it'd be 3 sets of 4.

Cool. I can hear that quite clearly. To me that is NOT random noise. I think I get slightly different notes.... CECD~CDCDCG~E it depend where you start of course. The squiggly lines indicate double length notes. I get 4 repeats exactly (with a little bit of doubt on the first couple of notes)

I plugged the notes I got into a tune finding utility on google and got one only result Alborada

Tomorrow I will post my version of those "tones", it's too late now... there are 12 tones BTW, the 9th being very long compared to all the other that are very short indeed. The last one, the 12th, is very faint.

the three lines are the long tone, that in my "morse code" I've translated with 3 lines.
BTW, tones or morse, we still don't know what they mean or if they are real, or just another "artifact".

I've been playing with the background noise, and the notes I get are CECDCDCDCGE.

I found a site that lets you plug notes in in order to find out what the tune is.

I did this and got the result "Alborada" - there is no such system.

I googled Alborada and found it is the spanish name for an Aubade which is a morning love song.

Apparently an Aubade contains several parts - one of which is an "Alba" which also has several parts.

One of these is that of a watchman warning of the coming dawn. (I quite like that bit)

There is a system called Alba.

91 LYrs from Sol - nothing seems to be known of it.

I warned you this was tortuous......

Its from a video of wishbones and was edited by someone else to show what happened to the UA.

The slowed down parts show something happening. But since the video in the first place was not planned out, the details are not that great. I agree with that video another test needs to be done and better videos are needed to be taken.

My penance will be to scour the SSS in Timocani for another UA again and again.

Regarding the video Drazz posted, that seems to show that the flash is something flying from the end of the UA.
If/when the community decides to "let one die", I want to be there with 1080p/60 recording it. Preferably with SAP8s and Hafnium in the way of the flash.

How so? I just need to pop over there I guess however I would first like this double checked with another site or two as every site is different, also I am still waiting for frontier to post or go past my submitted news article.

Ad it's full of RES too, a lot of high intensity zones...

I you got snuffed out. I thought you could not call out someone like that on the forums. Use there cmdr name and such if you have a grievance with them.

So did the person take your UA?

we should note that all who read this thread do not care for the UA. If you innocently say "hey guys, I'm going to HE BO to see if the UA makes pancakes" you will likely be met with some unwanted PVP.

Its not just a flash its like a space distortion or something hard to explain. Plus some strange thing shoots off the 45 deg to the left further away from the flash and distortion.

THAT'S the flash I'm talking about. I saw the distortion shockwave as well, and that is what nailed it for me.
When it goes POP, it's propelling something, be it a flash, a pulse, a distortion, a message, a subspace beacon... SOMETHING.

Regarding "calling out" on the forum, it wasn't my intent to cause offence and the Cmdr in question has previously been ok with their name being bandied around on the forum.

I even asked a thread if we can ask for bounty against players in the game on the forum. I do not see why not. There is bounty system in the game for npc why not against players.

Naming and Shaming is not permitted if that's what we're talking about. That is, ridiculing/shaming/accusations against a named commander is not permitted. In addition kill lists or bounties are not permitted on the forum. See the link to the forum rules in my Sig for more. Thanks.

I just bought a hauler and went to Alba - it seems to be uninhabited - 3 objects in system, all stars. I was in Solo but I still got wasted by someone near Alba 3. couldn't see anything of interest, so may not be worth pursuing. Don't know...
